We always seek out the best Sunday roast we can find when in England and this time it was the Crown Inn which satisfied our craving. There was nothing not to love. Everything was great- staff were efficient and pleasant, the atmosphere low-key and welcoming, and the food-fantastic! We split a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream afterwards and could not have been happier! During busy hours it may be a good idea to call and book a table. Fun fact about this place that the owner is a sports car aficionado and there are a lot of very cool car photos and memorabilia. You know a pub does great food when you walk in and see every table is reserved. Lucky for us it was 5pm and we sat at the 7pm table. Lovely bar maid. Had a few drinks and the best pie ever last night when visiting this little town. Great food I had the beef n ale pie. Paul had the chicken dish. So much to look at in this little Inn. The locals were so friendly, even op-ed the little shop up for us to buy some groceries. Called in for Sunday lunch today after travelling back from the lakes, food was very tasty and service was good, pub was a little chilly inside but we were seated by the door i suppose.
