The performers were great. The orchestra was great. Overall, a really nice experience. Tickets were very affordable. Highly recommend. The refurbished opera building is clean and inviting and the attendants/personnel are helpful and polite. We'll worth a visit when something you like is showing Beautiful modern building and colourful productions. Not so much for the orchestra. Out of tune, sloppy and soulless. Even at a student orchestra plays with more energy. Such a shame! It was such a great time there. The building itself is spectacular , staffs are kind and polite. Also the show we watched was absolutely great , the choreography was perfect and their costumes for every scene was fascinating. And people theirself were gorgeous. It was very best time of the year . I highly recommend visiting any spectacle by the opera and fell in the same love with it , in which I felt. The best opera in Bulgaria. Top performances! Beautiful Roman ruins lay before the Opera house, that give an enticing sense of respect for history and culture. Whereas the itself is refurbished with modern styles of brick laying, partnered with a facade of mirrored glass and concrete. This upsets me. The inside however (from a performers pov) is furbished with potted plants on window sills, long corridors lined with costumes of various pieces, small dressing amenities, medium sized studios with built in air conditioning and posters hanging for all to bask in the culture of the Opera house. The directorial side of the is very 'old school'. This differs from the architecture of the building and it's immediate surroundings of the Roman ruins, contemporary art gallery, Post Office and court that can be seen from across the roads.
