How about a ride out to the countryside to this wonderful village pub, loads of history and character.Met with very and polite staff, the was first class and very quick. The food was 5 star definitely, highly recommended and a worthwhile drive out even from warmley, had to have a revisit today, couldn't wait and had the pie of the day served by the gorgeous Kerrie, exceptional as usual from her and so quick, absolutely stacked out when we left, recommend reserving a table rather than being disappointed, Enjoy your meal Was on a long drive from Bath to Birmingham and found this place not far off our route. Reviews were good, and the looked so called and they had a table available for us. I wanted to have a burger, but didn't know if they did the main on Sundays (I did email them a week before to ask, but received no response) Luckily, when we got there about 6pm on Sunday and were given menus they were the standard (no sign of a Sunday with roasts, but that was for us) I got the "Beef and Brisket Burger" which was really good. The beef was lovely, clearly homemade and had a texture and flavour. Cooked perfectly and was juicy and soft. The brisket on top was really good. Not an issue, but I think they had forgotten to 'pull' it so there was lots of big chunks of brisket on top of the hiding under the cheese. I took these out to eat separately due to their size but the meat was amazingly soft and tasty and perfectly cooked. The bacon in the was also perfectly cooked (crispy) and there was loads of lovely melted cheese as well. The bun it was served in was also really soft and fresh tasting. My only issue with the was that it had pickles in it, which wasn't mentioned on the otherwise I would have asked to not have them (as they make everything taste strange!) And although the said the came with chilli jam, there was some sort of spicy relish on the bottom of the burger. This may have been the chilli jam but personally I didn't like it and had to scrape it off. It just tasted like spicy relish to me (which I would normally ask to remove if mentioned on the menu) and unlike any chilli jam I've had previously. But overall the was very impressive and definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. My wife had the fish and chips. It was a very big portion and the fish tasted with really crispy batter. (Although the fish was very greasy) The from all the was really and professional, and I would definitely recommend the here. If we were in the area I would happily eat here again. Came here for a family Sunday lunch. Quiet a few of us and the very accommodating and friendly. Had a mix roast, it’s £20, bit pricey, however, it was loaded with lots of meat, crackling and a decent selection of well cooked veggies. The apple crumble did seem undercooked and watery at the bottom, wasn’t the best Big place with really nice beer garden, great for all ages. Worth a for sure Food was a little salty but the were really pleasant and the pub was beautiful.... A lovely village pub with excellent food and quality ales. and welcoming and attentive service. Catered well for my wife, who is gluten intolerant. The bar, where we ate, is dog friendly. Campervan was welcome overnight in the ample carpark, and it was quiet. Really enjoyed my meal with my family. Children were well catered for and my meal was delicious and food tasted fresh! The were really and was good! Definitely can recommend for families with children! Sunday lunch for 16 people. The beef topside was one of the best pieces of beef I've ever tasted. Tender, tasty and loads of it. Great potatoes (not quite crispy enough) loads of gravy and fresh veg. Really considering how busy they were. Recommend. Very nice and quality food. I had the beef brisket and my other half had the herb crust hake with chorizo crushed new potato and beurre blanc. Unexpected the quality and how nice was. Called in whilst staying nearby for work, lovely little rustic pub with a log burner giving it that cosy feel. Staff were super and found me a table even with it being busy, could not fault the at all. Had the red wine lasagne, credit to the chef it was incredible. Sticky toffee pudding was also perfect! We found the Swan last year when we visited the area as it’s dog and the food looked very good. Because we had such a time we knew when we returned this year that it would be on the top of our list of places to eat. Booking online couldn’t have been easier, and our table was perfect for us and our dogs. The was nice and varied, we shared a delicious crispy ham hock starter before moving onto the main. My wife was initially disappointed to discover they’d sold out of salmon but her second choice of sea bass went down very nicely as did my lamb rump with a very tasty smoked garlic mash. A shared portion of buttered green vegetables was the perfect accompaniment. Dessert is too much for my wife but I couldn’t resist the Belgian toffee waffle with honeycomb ice cream and caramelised banana. The were helpful, and very cheerful despite it being very busy. Lovely place, fantastic food, great atmosphere and brilliant staff. We’ll be back next year! Food is average, are great apart from the manager. Extremely rude and refused point blank to serve me a smaller portion of their as I was not an OAP or a child. I explained I do not have a large appetite and on my 5 previous visits other members had absolutely no problem with serving me a smaller portion of their dinner. Then to top off this joke my mother's (as an OAP) smaller was exactly the same size as my large but at half the cost. I will not be going again purely to the rude & very unprofessional manager Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
