We Had pulled pork and bruskete. My daughter had the Balkan Boy..it was huge and should be remakeu the Balkan Dad! We were a group of Americans and after being in Europe for a few years now, this was like a little taste of home. The BBQ with caramelized onions were delicious, but a bit fatty. They were a little understaffed, but great service regardless. Patio seating was nice despite being on the highway. We passed by this on our way from Slovenia to Trieste and we were so intrigued by it that we drove the 15 minutes back the next night to eat here! Very BBQ and hamburger. Polite staff, normal prices. We were fast served. Delicious food, nice ambient. Keep a work. Prices are too high in comparison to average food. Interior is nice but we were the only guests which probably affected the food and service in general. Seems that place needs better marketing during the autumn and winter months. I hope they'll improve because this can be really interesting places and have a great story! Will check them again. The atmosphere was nice, and there was a large selection of dishes. However, when visiting one of the stalls in the women’s restroom, I noticed a cobweb, like something you’d find in a basement 😳 and it definitely wasn’t Halloween decorations 😕 The most delicious part of the meal came at the beginning, before the main course—it was kaimak and warm bread 🤪 The dishes we ordered arrived quite quickly, and the portion sizes were good. However, I noticed that none of the dishes had salt, pepper, or other spices. Even though I ordered spicy wings, they were quite bland. If you need to kill yourself with pork meat, look no further. Its a perfect place to eat and get some energy before road. The only reason I'm giving a Two stars and not a One star is simply because the food is half decent. The service however is abhorrent! The guy who was servicing us clearly needs to NOT be in the service industry... Mind you this is not our first at Porky's but sadly it is our last... We asked simply for two chicken burgers and to just remove bacon and cheese for the kids, nothing else... While still in the middle of taking our orders, we decided on cheese jalapenos and then chicken wings for sharing but we thought it was too much, then we told him just scratch the jalapenos and he said dismissively, sorry too late! He already sent it to the kitchen from his ipad..it was literally seconds from when we ordered it and canceled it and he was STILL in the middle of taking our other orders .. but that's fine, we didn't argue!! We kept it... The guy came back again 5 minutes later and reconfirmed that they need to omit cheese and bacon only from the chicken burgers and all fine up till here too! He came back with two burgers alright! just chicken and tomato inside... My wife asked him nicely to please bring the rest of the ingredients (there were supposed to be 6 ingredients) and reminded him again, just no cheese, no bacon. Out of nowhere, he snapped at us ("next time, order your burger as it is and dont waste our time!!") in a relatively high voice that the only other table heard it... I would blame it on a possible fact that maybe WE did something wrong with him or showed him a rude attitude which we absolutely didn't, we were happy to wait to get the burgers fixed which is ok...you might think that maybe he had a bad day, not sure at this point but it was shocking, unacceptable, unwarranted and just simply terrible... It left us with a bad taste in the mouth, ruined our mood as we were also very tired from a long road trip, we rushed the food, quickly ate it and left... We usually never minded the higher prices of the place before since we know it's at a prime location at the borders between Italy and Slovenia, but it suddeny felt very very expensive for the mediocre treatment we received this ... Our last time. Too extreme and exaggerated? Maybe, maybe not, it takes one bad, almost violent act like that guy's to repel customers for good... Porky's just lost very loyal clients that day, and from the looks of it, probably they don't care...but they should, they are at the front face of Slovenia! Quite literally! They should do better. Great BBQ, had a "The Boss" burger, which had just about every ingredient one can imagine on it and was cooked perfectly, we also had some BBQ that fell off the bone...seems strange that one would find this place in Slovenia a clue hundred feet from the Italian border instead of Downton Nashville but ...hey....I'm sold and I'll definitely will be back. Prices were more than reasonable, with drinks around €20 per person. Very atmospheric place. The were served after 5 minutes (visited at lunch time, place was not very busy). The were quite fine, maybe a little bit too tender. The country music playing, atmospheric wood and bricks surrounding, American flags. Very atmosphere and design, exactly what you expect from an American restaurant in Europe. Really a nice place with great atmosphere. Got the bbq and jalapeño ribs. It tasted so good. Passing through on a long rad trip, I'm glad we stopped here for food. The decor and the service were on point. But the food...the food was out of this world! So delicious!! Must try! We came all the way from Germany and this is by far the best BBQ diner I ate at in Europe. The was quick and on pint. He gave us extra ribs. The best I had in a long while and I love :) Only recommendable After 1 week of Italian pizzas and sweet breakfasts it was even better. Very good. Fingerlicking food and very friendly staff! If you can’t decide between or burger, go for “ribs burger” - best of both worlds. :) Yesterday, after driving all day, I desperately needed a break and a hot meal for my safety and others on the road. I arrived at the restaurant around 21:50 and asked for a table for one. Despite the restaurant being only half full, the waiter’s response was a curt “NO, not for one only!” I tried to explain my exhaustion and need for a break, but he just kept repeating “NO,” shaking his head without even looking at me. I have never been treated so inhumanely in my life. Thankfully, an older lady working there noticed my distress while taking an order from three other customers. She kindly asked if she could help. I explained my situation to her, and she genuinely seemed to want to assist me, showing a compassionate side that the lacked entirely. Despite her attempts to accommodate me, the rudely intervened, yelling, “NO, not for one!” His behavior fell far short of basic kindness. Feeling degraded, I returned to my car and continued my journey home. If you ever consider visiting this place, take a break from your journey but do not reward the (short dark hair and a beard in his mid-30s to 40s) with a tip. His behavior is undeserving of any gratitude. Total disaster. Stayed there for 15 minutes, nobody even showed up, nobody to handover a menu to us. Then saw us but didn't even care.
