Excellent meal with my brother and his girlfriend on Saturday night. The ambience and atmosphere was amazing, with the location being idyllic. The food and was with a wide array of choices to pick from, I had the fish and chips whilst they had the Thai curry and hunters chicken. Needless to say it all looked delicious and lovely selection of wines and beers . Difficult to get to but worth the trip. We went for lunch, staff were excellent. I had the sausage and mash which was also excellent. Reasonable price too. My wife and I stayed at the weary friar inn for a week.we had the standard Room. We used the inn as a base point. The inn itself is a beautiful place. Very quirky and worldly. Plenty of room for dinning. They have a large events room that is geared up for wedding and other parties. The staff and the owner were lovely. The breakfast was really good. You had the choice of fryups or cereal, basic fruits like apples orange and bananas. Tea coffee and choice of juice. I have to be honest so have to say for the price the room was a bit small, our bed was very creeky. There were no proper seat for the dressing table. A stool was provided but honestly not the Ideal thing especially as it wasn't adjustable, and wasn't really stable. The rooms could do with modernizing without losing the character. The bathroom was basic but functional. We had a kettle and all the stationaries that we needed. In the hallway they had all extra tea bags milk etc available for you to help yourself which I thought was a touch. This saves you from keep on having to ask for them this includes the loo rolls. The Inn has a character to it so much so that they filmed some seems for the TV show Beyond Paradise. The one amazing thing this inn has is that they are very dog friendly, they do dog ice-cream. They hold dog events/group gathering. Please expect to drive for activities shopping etc because there are none nearby. There are plenty of narrow roads and fields. Roads are not for the fainthearted or for caravans. Recommend for traveling, if looking for something quirky oldy and historical,dog friendly family friendly. We didn't stay but we ate there and the food was fantastic. I had fish and chips and it was excellent. Really batter the chips were just perfect. Lovely brie starter and a huge dessert. Staff were lovely too. Really nice place to eat. Wife had some vegan options too. Three of us enjoyed Sunday Lunch here today, including our Border Terrier Ruby. Ruby was very impressed with the water bowl brought for her and the doggy ice cream. The adults enjoyed their Sunday roasts and the generous portions. Best of all were the staff, they were great. Highly recommended. We had such a lovely stay at The Weary Friar Inn! We’re from the United States and visited while reconnecting with family and some of my husband’s old school friends. The Inn is a true little gem, nestled among beautiful patchwork fields. The food was delicious (and we really appreciated the gluten-free options—thank you!), and the bar was well stocked with friendly, attentive service. Everyone we met was kind and welcoming. The only minor challenge for me was a bit of dampness and some mildew, which I’m personally sensitive to, but it didn’t take away from the charm of our stay. I truly loved The Weary Friar Inn and would absolutely choose to stay here again! We had a lovely Sunday lunch here today, staff were friendly and helpful. Was able to bring dog in who had a bowl of water and doggy ice cream.
