We've been in previous years and went last Sunday for a roast. Threw was a choice of beef and pork. We had both across the family and everyone enjoyed it. The kids had pasta and chicken nuggets. Good service as well so recommended. But you need to book. Stopped by The Falcon Inn for a quick lunch while exploring St. Mawgan, which, by the way, is an absolutely stunning little village and well worth a visit in its own right. The pub is one of the only places serving food on a Wednesday afternoon (just a heads-up: the kitchen closes at 2pm, so don’t be late!). We ordered the 8oz Wagyu beef burger. Whether it was truly Wagyu is up for debate. It came out very well-done and ended up quite dense, but overall, it was a decent burger. A strong 6 out of 10 for the local area. That said, the rest of the plate was great: crisp chips, fresh salad, and tasty coleslaw, all served in generous portions. The pub itself is really charming, with a beautiful garden and some covered outdoor seating perfect for those classic Cornish rainy spells. The staff were lovely, warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, and they’ve got a good selection of drinks and plenty of other food options on the menu. All in all, it’s a great little stop if you’re in the area. Peaceful setting, good service, and a classic village pub atmosphere. We have been eating at The Falcon inn every time we visit this area and have never had a bad meal. My wife and I are both Gluten Free which they’ve always been able to cater for. We both had the ‘fish of the day’ which was rather disappointing. The dish was a piece of cod which was ok , meant to be sautéed potatoes, but looked like new potatoes that had been warmed up, and it looked like they put the veg in with the potatoes as they were slightly burnt as well. The fish and chips looked nice as did the steak (standard pub dishes). Sadly £145 later we may have to look for an alternative pub next time we visit the area. Been a visitor since 2006, always a nice place for either a meal or just a drink. Very friendly staff and lovely beer garden. 10/10 Beautiful pub in St Mawgan. Popped in one evening, wife and I both had steak _ excellent. Enjoyed it so much we came back for our last evening meal of the holiday, wife had steak again, I had lasagna. It's not often I'm beaten by a meal but this did. Good beer and excellent service in lovely surroundings. Recommended. The atmosphere combine with the aesthetics and excellent service made the evening exceptionally enjoyable. I would recommend a visit to this pub before the amazing landlady and her team depart in September. Thank you for making the evening so relaxed and comfortable. Arrived at 1.15pm, website says lunch orders until 2, plenty of unreserved free tables outside and an empty reserved table inside the bar area, it didn’t appear overly busy. Tried to order food at the bar for me and my little boy and was told the kitchen weren’t taking orders unless I’d reserved a table, even for sandwiches. If they said there was a 30 minute wait, or if I’d rocked up just before lunch closing, or told they were short staffed I would have understood. Really disappointed. As a local, I’ve been here a few times before and the food has always been nice and a lovely location with kids play park close by. Such a shame about the unwelcoming experience this time! Not sure I’ll go back again. Absolutely faultless!!! Went there last night for an amazing meal with my family as we are down here on holiday and what a find! Lovely little village pub with very friendly staff. My son had the mussles in clotted cream and Rattlers cider sauce and said they were the best mussles he has ever had. And he has eaten a lot of mussles in his time!! My other boy had the wagyu burger, which I tried and it too was excellent and full of flavour. I had the steak and my wife had fish and chips. Again both excellent quality. And then the puddings….!!! Again, amazing and very good size portions unlike a lot of other places. Just gutted this pub isn’t closer to where live or we would be going there A LOT!! If I could have met the chef I would have shaken his hand and said thank you!
