It's a reconstruction of a traditional village where you can see the vernacular architecture as it really was. They used the same historical building techniques and materials. It's a great opportunity to learn about the past. There is description in English as well. The tour takes around one hour. Absolutely nothing memorable in here. Actually the worst Skanzen I ever seen. Needs some improvement. The information tables are missing, the suggested direction is closed. It is hard to learn/experience anything here. We spent an afternoon there during the International Folklore Festival of 2004 dancing and singing with the locals. It was a wonderful experience. Good opportunity to see the traditional Hungarian houses. There are some animals to see. Some special days there are special programs.for kids. Very nice place Very beautiful ethno village with detailed English descriptions on several location. Extremly nice and helpful ticket lady and a georgeous black cat Lulu, the only permanent resident of the village. Definitely worth a visit if you stop in Szombathely.
