Service is slow, and menu is stuck in the 80's....unlike the prices, strongly unjustified! Visited this place on a Sunday trip. I was impressed with the food and the portions of the food. Very tasty and authentic Croatian food. The bread was beautiful and my food was top. The service was fantastic the waiter was kind, patient and polite. Prices were ok for the restaurant The wine advised by the water was delicious Toilets were impeccable They have a big spacious car park Decent food, big portions, nice interior and exterior, classical family for weekend dining, very polite and servile staff, good experience if you do not expect too much A well-known not far from Zagreb, along the road that leads to the town of Krapina and further to Slovenia and Austria. It was famous for a very tasty and huge steak (actually breaded cheese and ham wrapped in a veal or turkey schnitzel). Even today Ribič steak is a frequent choice of guests. The service is young and helpful. The offer of salads in the appropriate bar as well as the rich wine list and the offer of traditional desserts will satisfy even the most demanding guests. The price is appropriate to the offer. Ribič is a good choice for the family as well as for intimate company. Likewise, a larger group of guests would be satisfied in the rather large space and the offer that this provides. Amazing food! Very friendly staff and unforgettable atmosphere. 👌👍 Nice atmosphere, friendly and efficient stuff, great food. Foot-and-half long Zagreb steak (breaded and fried pork cutlet stuffed with ham and cheese) is something not to be missed if you are there ... I have been here many times, mostly because of xxl zagrebački steak (fried extra large piece of meat). It is always solid quality, not the best for sure... Haven't been in awhile, they have reduced the menu to the basics (but as a side dish 4 types of potatoes 🤪) and I do not like that... As always in old Croatian (balkan) restaurants, they expect you to spend a lot of money for a mediocre food... young people do not eat like that, starting with soup, then cold appetizers, then main course with side dish and salad, then dessert, all flushed with liters of semi decent wine... sometimes you just want some nice fried meat and a salad... but here, you would get THE look... as if somehow with your decision, the will bankrupt... so 1 star less for that and very reduced menu... Allow me to take you for a brief time-traveling trip: I was in this in the late 1990s. Back then it was a friendly, unpretentious, family-run whose main claim to fame was the largest Zagreb stake (zagrebacki odrezak) in the country. It was where we went to escape from the bustle of Zagreb to relax and (over)eat. Fast forward to present time: the place went through renovations, making it look more modern, sort of, and losing its friendliness and charm along the way. The staff is stiff, smiles are hard to come by, so is their attention, especially if you neglected to make a reservation, as we did. After being seated we waited to earn the attention of a waiter for about half an hour. Porcini soup arrived within next half-hour. It was tasty enough, though served in oversized bowls as seen in cooking shows shot in glitzy, pretentious Michelin-star restaurants, which this place will never be. Then we waited for another hour for our zagrebacki odrezak. It’s still a large as I remembered it, but it lost the homemade charm and, other than the size, failed to impress taste-wise. Admittedly, it would have had to be the world best tasting steak to erase the 2-hour wait. We noticed that other guests around us waited unreasonably long for their food too, so the problem wasn’t us, but rather inefficient kitchen. Finally, instead of apology, we got “that’s the way it is here” line from the waiter. The renovations that made the once-homely feel cold and sterile, the clean new uniform on slow bumbling serving staff are a pretentious veneer for a lousy experience. Prices are reasonable enough, so if you feel like spending the day waiting for your food to arrive, good luck. As for us, we’ll pass this in wide circle. Rating: 2 for food, 0 for service and atmosphere.
