I have agonised over posting this review from our early January visit. It was such a mixed experience. In summary the Fawlty Towers of pubs but with decent food! The positives - easy to park, great location, traditional pub with a cosy feel, Sunday roast was delicious The negatives - the was chaotic despite the number of staff, dishes not as advertised (e.g. Sticky Toffee Pudding on is with ice cream but when ordered it came with custard), not properly updated (on the day we were given three different versions of the same menu), small things that let down the dining experience e.g. apple sauce and mint sauce provided with only one spoon (asked for a second spoon but never received one), crumble was warm not hot, randomly a jug of water with glasses was provided to our table when we had finished eating. I also felt really sorry for the diners on the table next to us. Because of the way the tables were arranged, someone had to get up every time people on one side of our table needed the toilet. I took my son his and fiance' here on a Thursday, it wasn't overly busy, I say this as it's important, so as not raise expectations during busier times, may be slower. We were greeted by very staff, we chose to sit outside. We were very hungry and ordered straight away, expecting our food to take a while, it didn't. It was lightening quick, served piping hot and with a smile. The food.. Well, it was fantastic. Two of us had fish and which were cooked to perfection. The fish was so fresh and the batter really crispy, we loved the chunky too. My son had a burger and skinny which he enjoyed as well, but may have been a bit envious as we were raving about our chunky so much 😊. An all round it was a good experience. Thank you to Scott, Maisie and Vicki for food and great service. I would definitely highly recommend the Bell Inn to anyone who enjoys good food, especially the fish and chips! Had a delicious dinner. The recommendation of the cheesecake was appreciated as it was very refreshing What a gem of a pub! We popped into The Bell on Sunday for a roast and... boy, did we strike gold! 🟡⛏️ The food was mouthwateringly delicious, with the meat seasoned to perfection and the veggies (root veggies, you rockstars) stealing the show. And the portions? Let's just say you might need to loosen a notch or two on your belt. The was zippy and super polite, making us feel right at home. We did miss out on the fabulous outdoor seating at the back (rookie mistake), but we still caught some rays post-feast☀️. This charming old pub has a fantastic vibe, and it's a definite must-visit. Kudos to the whole team! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Absolutely fantastic. Mind the pot holes in the rear car park. A real gem in the heart of Outwood! This pub offers a perfect mix of delicious food, atmosphere, and a beautiful countryside setting. The has something for everyone—from hearty classics to lighter options—all freshly prepared and full of flavour. were warm and welcoming, creating a relaxed and enjoyable vibe from the moment we arrived. Whether you’re popping in for a quiet drink or a full meal, it’s a spot that really delivers. Plus, the location is ideal—right in the village, with surroundings and plenty of charm. Definitely worth a visit! Visiting school friends. Sunday lunch catchup in the sunshine in the beer garden I chose the Roast beef option with the trimmings. Brilliant value for money food and drink. What a place to watch the fireworks! Parked easily, managed to get a table and chairs for the while evening. The food was very tasty. We had burgers and chips, and it was the nicest burger I've had in quite a while. As for the fireworks, they were brilliant! We will definitely be back before the next display. Top marks all round for this country pub and restaurant. Pleased to see they source produce from the local BrightLeigh farm and was one of the reasons we chose to visit. Staff were all welcoming and friendly, was good and the food was excellent. Loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended Went here with the ladies from work. Alcohol eating by the fire. Both food and were spot on I had Googled Harvester, and for some reason, this place came up. My friend and I were thinking if this place was going to have nice food and as black women walking in, how would we be treated. Staff were lovely!! The food was amazing!! The only thing we had to ask is how long our food would be, As we had our starter and was hungry. It was worth the wait. We didn't feel uncomfortable being that everyone in the venue was white. It was a nice experience, and I would definitely go back. Thank you to all the that dealt with us.... We enjoyed the experience in this place. The food was delicious, reasonable portions, decorated and staff. The only thing that could be improved is the attention of the staff, often deeply inmersed in conversation without raising their heads to see if we were waiting for ordering or anything. Expensive but authentic and traditional Amazing pub, typical and traditional. Popular amongst the locals. Cozy atmosphere. Well worth a visit 🍺 🇬🇧 The food was great but the was not so great. Waited 50 minutes from the time of ordering for the food to arrive. There were only 5 other tables with people at so not massively busy. No one came to clear the table or ask if we wanted dessert. I had to go up to the bar to get the and order them. Visited this place on Sunday afternoon for lunch. Place was full. Very and excellent food with generous portions. We was unfortunate to have 2 new girls serving us. They’ve lack knowledge of non alcoholic options. Senior member of was very polite and helpful. Overall fantastic place Came here without a booking as a coach driver with 20 hungry farmers. We were welcomed and fed some smashing food! country pub! Met up with friends at The Bell, first time for me and was immediately struck by the cosy, country pub atmosphere, with a real fire going and comfortable seating. The was extensive, with several starters and main courses of the day also available. We chose the belly pork cubes as a shared starter and can say, hand on heart, the best I've had in ages, tender and with a sticky sauce, wished we'd ordered one each. Next we had fish and that rated 5*s from friend and I had the pie of the day, chicken, leek and chorizo in a light sauce, with brocoli, mash and real gravy. Delicious!! Service was and attentive but not intrusive. One of the best pub experiences I've had in ages. Thank you!!! Mike We all loved the food, the flavour was amazing & all so tasty. Not the most affordable place to eat out but such a nice treat 😋 looking forward to when we can next visit Really nice meal and was good but spoilt by under cooked crumble We have just been to The Castle for the first time.
