Did not go to the actual leisure centre. Took my grandson to the skate park. I tried to get a cold drink, the place was shut! Nice 25m pool. We book lane swims using the places Leisure app. Cheapest place to swim in the BCP area - around £1 cheaper than BH Active or BCP leisure centres. The centre has that school sports hall aesthetic, but don't let that put you off! Pool is clean (although because of its vintage, some of the tiles are yellowed), good temperature, and super-wide slow lane. It's never too crowded and lifeguards are attentive. The rooms are usually fairly clean - mainly communal with a handful of individual cubicles. Shower cubicles and usually reliable hot showers. Lockers (£1 refundable) are well maintained. Steps up to the pool from the rooms can be slippy. Plenty of free parking on site. Best value swim in the area 🏊‍♀️ Booked a badminton court at short notice. Good VFM at £9 for an hour. Dump , no different from when i was 10 years old ! That was 40 years ago , the water is freezing and the rooms and showers horrid , i used to swim every week at the littledown , whilst living in moordown , now in westmoors ive only been 3 times , im only in warm hotel pools nowadays or at caravan sites , this place needs investment , and fast Needs a better online booking system but overall a fair experience...attitudes need a shift from some staff though Most reasonably priced gym with pool in the area. Some people say its because it could do with refurbishment and yeah - that's true but at the end of the day if they put the prices up to refurbish, many of us wouldn't be able to afford the fees. I go there to keep fit, not to admire the plastering. Great range of classes. Only use but the pool and facilities are good Booked a family session on a Sunday for the small pool. rooms are OK, a little dated really but do the job. Pool itself has chairs by the edge for non members, not alot of people crammed in so you can really enjoy your swimming. Floaties aswell for the little ones. Overall, a good experience. I never been so disgusted in my life.. first of I was over charged, then wrong direct debit set up, shown proof they still disbelieved.. whilst arguing about that I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer made them aware I could not attend gym sent proof in.. to add to my stress still getting nasty default letters from them.. despite going in there, writing to them, ringing them ! Avoid !!!! This gym ! Unhelpful and no sympathy for health just out for your money !! Now have to take legal advise and I have enough to deal with ! Great place to train with very helpful staff. Big car park with ample space. Good mix of people with varying abilities and ages. Lucy who signed us up explained everything we needed to know clearly and succinctly. Great asset to ferndown leisure centre. Good gym and no faff registration for a passing visitor needing a workout. Loos, showers and rooms all looked clean and well maintained. Was staying with a friend in Ferndown, i was aware of the area but I didn’t have a clue where I was going and was sent all the town and almost judged for asking where I was going! Until I came into the centre this morning already missed a class but kindly put onto another one. The receptionist staff was a man and a lady that was there at 11:00am. I told them my fuss to find the place and they were so helpful even gave me a lovely coffee. That made my day and I hope this review makes theirs. Keep shining and showing compassion!
