A very nice and informative tour.Lila was a great guide and host. Audio visuals allow for children to enjoy as well. Interesting presentation on history of the region and truffle cultivation. Adrian was a great storyteller and the videos were well done. The degustation was a nice treat. It isnt all about truffles! We were lucky enough to go when the only other customer was also a native English speaker so the guide spoke ( perfect) English throughout rather than us relying on an audio guide. It was very interesting - we learnt about the history of the region as well as the architecture of the beautiful old building. our guide, Adrian, was really friendly and knowledgeable as well as being a really lovely person. Of course, we learnt all about the cultivation, hunting and sale of truffles and got to taste food and drink flavoured with them. You finish off in a truffle shop but it's not a hard sell. The only thing we didn't like was the truffles but they must be an acquired taste! Ok, let's be clear. The Museum is run by a commercial seller who provides a tasting at the end of the visit orientated to their shop, but with no pressure to purchase! However, if you managed to follow one of the excellent Tourist Office guided tours beforehand, where the "Lauzes" roofs are explained, as well as the reason behind the very tall Bourgois "staircase towers", the Museum is a reasonably priced and fabulous way to actually get up close and see for yourself the inside of one of these fascinating buildings, which has only recently been beautifully renovated. The tour is very informative and humorous with a little surprise or two along the way. A special mention for the lady at the entrance who was delightful, very welcoming and knowledgeable. Exceptional truffle tour of truffles and the area! We learned so much about the history of truffles and modern day use. Adrian and multi media displays elaborated on many interesting details facts that we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend making time for this fascinating tour! A small but informative look at Truffles from biology to searching cultivating and scientific research. Nice gift shop area and pleasant staff. We did this as a group of 6. The information and audiovisual experience is very well done. You must try the Truffle beer. Fantastic museum - I would highly recommend! The interesting information is presented in multiple, engaging ways plus you finish with a taste test of truffle products with friendly, multilingual staff.
