Friday night; a microbrewery of diverse English ales, a 'Cod en Bleu' fish and chip kitchen outside, and a smattering of global visitors joining EU locals inside is the current fare in Monpazier. Not to be missed so with winter marching towards us CHECK THE OPENING TIMES before setting off. It's worth the effort and the beers are gold star quality. Montpazier is such a lovely historic town and well worth a visit. You will not be disappointed by a visit to the artisan brewery of Biere de la Bastide, either for a drink or for a meal. Huw and his wife Denise have created a great environment to enjoy one or more of their fine locally brewed beers. We enjoyed our lunch washed down with a pint of L’été Blonde, delicious. (Wine or soft drink available). Will definitely be back. Really great beer. The ‘Chasse’ is superb and the food looks good. Polite friendly staff too! A good atmosphere and plenty of tasty beers/ ales. There's a fish and chip van just outside of your hungry, and they show all of the six Nations games (rugby). Hugh and Denise's lovely brew hall with intriguing decoration and good food / music on occasions as advertised. Well curated choice of beers served to table by nice multilingual staff. Some of the beers are a little too hoppy for me but that is just personal taste. The food is good and the service quick and friendly. Even better because they don't stop serving at 14:00 like many places in France. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. We love this place! Great beer, live music, good food, regular quiz.
