This place is nestled in the beautiful countryside of the Bergische hills. We have been coming here off & on for a number of years now - usually in the summer months and then sitting out on the extensive terrace and garden. On this Friday evening, it was too chilly to sit outside, so we were shown a table on the first floor of this cozy old mill building. A chatty and smiling young lady looked after us well. I took advantage to order a half liter of Bavarian draft beer and then ordered the white asparagus, serrano ham, Hollandaise sauce on a generous, large sized pancake. As the name suggests most of the dishes here are based on pancakes. My son went for the simple version based purely on cheese and chopped ham and my wife went for the version with pieces of chicken breast and broccoli. She found this to be rather bland and dry but our request for extra sauce made with blue gorgonzola cheese made it more enjoyable. All in all, this was a nice Friday evening dinner - and having a meal based on makes a change... Sehr leckeres Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Best Pancake House in Bergisches-land. Must go if you fancy sweet or salty (Pfannkuchen). The food is amazing and the portion are really big. So the ratio quality price is very good. Decoration inside is typical, and there is an area outside to sit and eat in the sun. Definitely a good experience. The service was amazing; everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Plus, the unique ambience really sets it apart from any other restaurant I’ve visited.
