I will return. I had always wanted to go to Europe. In all honesty I never thought I'd make it but my dearest wife pushed for a great family vacation in order to show the kids the wonderful history there. One of our stops was in Normandy, we stayed at a small B&B and had several day trips to multiple places in northern France. We had wanted to spend a lot more time in Solesmes but that was not going to happen. So, packing the kids into the rented cars we decided to go find some food. Up to this point the food had been a mixed bag (in some cases, literally), quite honestly I was shocked at the amount of Indian food, Chinese food, and general non native food that was in Europe. But here we found this little place called Le Saint Philibert in Fontenay-sur-Vègre. We arrived later than lunch is normally served but the staff was kind and said that they would help us anyway, we had 8 of our 9 children with us at the time so we were very grateful to find something to eat. The food was excellent and not even excellent for the price but excellent. There was bread, perfect bread, the type you hear about in food movies, butter for the spreading, cheese and cured meats that most Americans will never taste. I was so glad to experience this wonderful little restaurant, especially since our trip was quite long and detailed. When I got the bill I was expecting a surprise (although I had added it up in my head) because so many places we had been found ways to add charges to our meals. This was so reasonable and affordable I want to go back to Normandy and visit St. Philibert just to say thank you for the warm and wonderful meal.
