Nice place to go walking on a wet or sunny day. up for free by the gatehouse entrance in the village, otherwise pay in the country park. I spent over 2 hours walking around the park, through woods, orchards, around the lake and edge of the course. There's a visitors office, toilets, football pitch and changing rooms, tennis and basketball courts, children's play area and fitness stations located around the park. £2.80 to your car, you can up the village and dander down, I really can't see much about the village or the park, A very nice Country nestling around a lake and apple orchards. There is a carpark with a small entrance fee, and toilets. A coffee van is occasionally present between the carpark and childrens' playground. Fishing is popular at the lake and there is an 18 hole course, a football pitch and two tennis courts within the park. There are a number of waymarked walks. My personal favourite is the Bridle Path (3.5 miles / 5.91 kms) which is a walking route that takes in the woodland and also skirts the course in parts. There are a couple of steeps climbs if you in an anti-clockwise direction. Also, the route around the course is rough underfoot in parts but is tarmac elsewhere. Therefore, not all the walks are suitable for those with mobility issues. As with most places, there is some dog fouling and littering. Likewise, many people have their dogs off their leads, which can be a nuisance. Very occasionally horses are on this path, but in my experience, the riders are sensible and considerate of walkers. If you have children or dogs be aware that tractors and other vehicles use the roads and paths around the park. There are plenty of birds to be seen including Buzzards and, if lucky, a Great Spotted woodpecker. I recommend this as somewhere to visit if you are in the area. Great for walks, and good for kids, also vending machines inside for hot drinks etc at good price, plus if you take out annual parking it's only 10-quid good value. Excellent facilities Lovely place for a visit with the family, loads of car parking spaces available, great playground and facilities with something for all ages. Stunning scenery to enjoy with great walking paths throughout the grounds. Fishing, football, are all catered for here. The place is very well maintained and staff are friendly Beautiful park, with a number of habitats for plant and bird life. Good paths, plenty of bins and a few benches. I here often with my sister, father, and the dogs. Beautiful place..must visit..scenic park..loved it..captured many pics Lovely open space, fabulous around the lake with stunning views across, just beautiful Lovely quiet place. An outstanding are of natural beauty with so much to do in one place. Forest walk, horse riding, course, football pitches, fishing and of course kid's play park. Super Lovely quiet peaceful walk. Boards on walkway could do with updating.
