The food here was amazing! Some of the best food I've ever had. I had the tiger prawn starter, pan-seared salmon main, and raspberry creme brulee. There were so many good options on the menu that I had difficulty deciding. The were super attentive and friendly, even on a busy Saturday night. And they were kind enough to seat me even though I got there after 8pm and didnt have a booking. I will definitely go back. It's fine Service was fine but if you have any questions about the food expect a cold/hostile reply. 9 of us eating 4 couldn't finish their meals as they add their own twist to them without mentioning it on the menu. Some food was warm and other meals pipping hot. We arrived and it was quiet but seemed to fill up quickly, tried to walk in one week and they were booked out. So reservations would be advised to insure you get in. Plenty of space for big groups and many customers. Clean and tidy looking. Staff will openly talk about you in common walk areas. When some of our group went to the bathroom they could clearly hear the talking about our table. Desserts were big portions, looked good and those that ordered were happy with them Great food and friendly . Nothing is to much bother for them . As a family we have been going here for years and we have always had great food . We arrived a little early and were told it was fine to come in, but then overheard the manager saying not to take our order until half past. When the food came, it was disappointing. I ordered the Diane sauce, but what arrived was nothing like a Diane sauce – I was told it was “their take on it,” but I’m sorry, it simply wasn’t. There were also other problems with the food at our table. The avoided us for a long time, though we could clearly hear them talking about our table. Overall, not a good experience and I wouldn’t go back. Couldn’t have asked for better service from booking to dining. All the were happy to help and our food was brought out swiftly. As a group of 20 that was a huge task. Delicious food ,lovely atmosphere and well priced. 🍴 Can’t rate the food as we didn’t actually get to eat! Booked well in advance and travelled about a half a hour to get there. When we got there, ordered drinks and looked over the menu. Informed the waitress that we had one person that was coeliac and would require a gluten-free meal. He has had this allergy for approx. 20 years so we have had much experience ordering food in restaurants but have never had an experience like we had in this restaurant! They advised that there was in the kitchen and risk of cross-contamination but gave us an allergen card to fill in the card to inform the chef of allergy. Did this and the waitress brought the card to the kitchen. In spite of this, when she returned, she informed us that they could not offer one single option that was free. The fryers couldn’t be used as they are used for food with (which is usually the case so we’re used to that but chefs do offer to cook things separately), couldn’t use the oven as food with is cooked in it & when we asked if they could just fry a steak on a clean frying pan separately, we were told no, the steak can only be cooked in the oven. We were hungry so we left most of our drinks, paid for them and went to find somewhere else that we could eat. The tone was cold and hostile and no apologies were offered at all. I might add that we’ve actually eaten here before and the allergy wasn’t a problem to work around and the food was beautiful which is why we returned, but that was about 3 years ago. Very disappointing. We then went on the The Seagoe in Portadown. Our guest with the allergy had prawn salad with free bread, seabass with crispy potato side and APPLE CRUMBLE for dessert - which he can rarely ever get! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Do yourself a favour and just travel straight there for your meal. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Fantastic food, very generous portion sizes, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend Friday night usually Steak deal. 2 starters and 2 steaks with a side and sauce. £60 was great value. Good choice of starters and side. Steak cooked to perfection. attentive but not in your face. Good wine list. Advise booking to avoid disappointment.
