Incredible view from the top. Beautiful path, but a little dangerous for amateurs One of my favourite hiking spots Such a beautiful place! Not to long of a walk and not to tough! Yes it is upwards and steep, but it's manageable! Recommend deeply! Really easy hiking trail staring directly at the center of Hallein. Takes about 1.5 hours to get to the top. There is a lots of forest at the beginning so it's not directly exposed to the sun, which is nice in summer but could be a bit chilly in spring or a auntum. On the top you have an amazing view over Hallein and all the nearby mountains. Salzburg city should also be visible. If you are afraid of heights it is a nice way to challenge yourself. There are rails to hold onto. If you get dizzy because of an extreme fear of heights I would NOT recommend it. Otherwise it's fine. Oh yeah, don't forget your sun protection! Very nice hiking trail with a wonderful view. I liked the trail because there are handrails at the end part, which made me feel more safe and secure. Steep climb but great views from the top Nice and fairly easy everyday hike. Us folks from Hallein often consider this our “house mountain”, perfect for a quick tour after work with nice views over the city! Insider tip: go up from Hallein (eg via Knappensteig) or Dürrnberg, but descend on the other side for a cold beer (or a traditional meal) at the end in Kaltenhausen’s brewery.
