WOW WOW WOW! I can't believe this place is not a Must-visit spot in Calabria, We came here by chance as we wanted to see some nature, not knowing what we were about to see. The path takes you into a kind of a fairy tail in a tropical/rain forest. You are walking alongside a river surrounded by beautiful trees, plants and rocks. At the end of the trail you'll find a waterfall inside a small wave-like rock formation. If you can avoid looking at pictures and videos - the better. The less you know the more you'll be surprised and enjoy this little hike. It's not a loop trail but at the end there is a loop-like part. From start to finish I think everything should take about 1 hour (30 min back and 30 min forth). The starting point in the path on the left to the building going down to the river and not the path going up the mountain. See photos. Enjoy! Excellent short walk to a waterfall. This is a part of the nature, should not be a resource of income when the place is not owned by the locals. Disgusting avoid at all costs DO NOT BUY TICKETS this is a scam Scamming locals I used to go to this place every summer when i was a kid and today i got blocked by some locals who put chains and a door to the place saying they built a bridge and made it all perfect for the waterfall. It is a natural site and everyone should have access to it which is ridiculous. Also they added a 5 euro entry and have to book a tour guide which is one of them to be allowed inside. Very shameful. Someone needs to stop them. We went to this waterfall according to the opening hours in October. 17th, but the gate was closed. We are visiting this lovely region from abroad. We had seen this natural beauty on google and were excited to take the short hike to observe ita majesty while touring the area, however after seeing that the access as been chained up, that locals are apparently pocketing the money to enter, and that guides do not let paying customers take their time, we have decided against going. Its a shame that the local government cannot be trusted with coming up with sensible rules. If they have "volunteers" acting as guides (who definitely dont keep the money, supposedly) then why cant they just have those volunteers clean the trail once a month, if that was the issue in the first place? The trail, from the recent photos, is not in the condition that suggests anyone is investing money to maintain it.
