We stayed for 2 nights, but would have stayed more if we knew what this place was like. Bernard the owner lives onsite and runs the place himself with a very personal touch. It has huge gardens, a pond, a paddock with horses, lush grass with peacocks. Yes, their very own peacocks, walking around you as you stroll around the gigantic garden, feeling like an aristocrat. Bernard pursued his dream of renovating and running this old-time chateau and has done a truly excellent job. We wanted to keep this a secret for our next visit, but it's only fair that Bernard gets the recognition for making us feel so warmly received. Absolutely excellent welcome, and atmosphere. Went for a nice walk around the grounds along the well-kept path, and was really surprised to see so much diversity - both in the vegetation, Romantic-Era surroundings (towers, ponds, cave), and wildlife. Absolutely unforgettable. Beautiful château, outstanding hospitality, and a wonderful experience overall. Merci du fond du cœur We stayed here on the 1st January, unfortunately only one night. Everything was perfect...the very spacious room, the ancient warming atmosphere, the breakfast with very high quality products (and with two peacocks outside the window). The hosts were very friendly and tried to help us in finding a place were to have dinner (it is not easy in France on the 1st January). We will definitely return, maybe during the spring!
