Very good selection of burgers and very reasonably priced. Food is well presented and always hot. Good variety of beers and wine which are competitively priced. you can eat in the bar, the restaurant or in the outside area. The staff are always polite and helpful. Always good...often good fun too. This auberge hosts lots of cultural/theatrical and music events... reliable for a decent meal and conviviality. The best rural experience of France I had all week. I speak no French at all, but the staff and customers were very patient with me to determine what it was I required. I have to say, the handmade burgers were not only the biggest I've have had, but the tastiest too. Well presented, well portioned and service was exceptional. Great little hidden gem of a place -1 for soundproof (I can hear everything and everywhere) -1 for wi-fi speed Not a single hook in a bathroom. You just have to put everything on a radiator or near sink. But the price is fair for this conditions. Breakfast was the best part :) I find this rather difficult to review as it was a completely different experience to the other 10 hotels we used for this holiday. First off I don't think they get many English through as we were definetly something of an oddity as far as the locals in the bar was concerned. We secured a room right at the top of the hotel that had one of the roof beams running diagonally through it that made it difficult to get to one side of the bed. The floor creaked alarmingly and must have been a pain to anyone below us. The food was OK and well served. Breakfast was meagre compared to a usual French breakfast. One member of staff I should mention was a young girl who appeared to run the entire establishment on her own. Although our communication with her was poor she did work extremely hard and is an accet to the Place. Friendly place, I am always made welcome, beers good and they make a really great burger with skin on frites, plenty if choices too. Recommended.
