This iconic glass cantilever lookout is high above the picturesque village of Agulo. You can experience the stunning views and the beautiful panorama all around and across the ocean to the island of Tenerife, where the peak of El Teide volcano is clearly seen. A place with beautiful views of the ocean and the neighbouring island of Tenerife. In good visibility you can see almost 60km away. The glass bridge of the viewpoint, which is a tourist attraction, or rather the glazing is unfortunately not maintained and so the view is better outside this area. The viewpoint is accessible daily from 10:00 to 16:00. Outside these times the barrier from the crossroads on the access road is closed. This is very difficult to get to without a car. However, if you can get there, it's well worth the experience. We went on an incredibly windy day and we could feel structure being slammed into by the wind. It does give fabulous views of tge Town of Agulo below. This is a striking piece of architecture juxtaposed against breathtaking views. The observatory is mainly a restaurant with a spectacular, vertigo-inducing, glass-bottom observation area. Come for the photo ops, stay for the food (which is surprisingly okay for such a potential tourist-trap). If you're lucky, you'll get a chance to see a live demonstration of Silbo — La Gomera's unique whistling language. If you're feeling adventurous, there is a little trail that wanders down the side of the cliff that's worth exploring. We were here two weeks ago when it was still open (although the restaurant and the toilettes were already closed). We were not impressed by the Skywalk - the glass of the windows and floor were very dirty and didn't make it as impressive as it looked from the outside. A bit disappointing. The view outside was much better. Although the building now seems to be closed, it's worth the visit. We hiked up from Agulo which was a bit challenging to the steapness of the path but you can also get there by car. The view towards Tenerife and the Teide is amazing. Also the hills of the red soil are worth the visit. Really fantastic restaurant on all counts, and highly recommended to visit. You might be forgiven for thinking a place like this is just a tourist trap, you would be wrong. Everything was spot on. Starting with the welcome and the service, the waiters interacted with the customers, and I was welcomed with a handshake. Service was slick and professional. Next, the presentation. I've attached photos, the food arrived with a real wow factor. Care was taken over each plate, which were colourful and smart, while retaining a rustic edge commensurate with local cuisine. The food it's self was absolutely fantastic. Modern twists on local dishes. We had fried fresh goat's cheese 3 ways including the locally made palm honey glaze; Batatas bravas canary style; an exquisite Tomato avocado and roasted garlic salad all as fresh as you will find it anywhere in the world; and the restaurant speciality croquettes, which can be bought as singles or in 6's. We mixed and matched flavours. Finally, goes almost without saying, the view. Where else could you have lunch hanging over a cliff edge?! It was breathtaking. The price was extremely reasonable, we paid €30 for a hansom 2 course lunch for 2 with drinks. This is down as one of my favourite restaurants anywhere in the world, it is the whole package. If you get a chance to go, don't pass it up. Awesome view over the N-E part of the island! The entrance and the parking are free of charge. If you arrive here, go for a little walk right next on the red little hills. Impressive viewpoint - but the true magic is the crazy romantic Martian landscape surrounding it! By all means do not miss out on taking an hour or two to explore it. Unforgettable, one of the most special terrains on La Gomera!
