The playground is good although several parts were broken today, I guess because it's winter. The staff, not so great (see below). The restaurant offers only sausage and waffle, even the fries [the only thing edible for me there on a normal day] are no longer available. Of course, they take your entrance money first and give you the bad news (much) later with no apology or reason. So, if you are a meat-eater and want a coronary soon, I recommend the restaurant for the sausage. If you are not yet diabetic, the rest of the choice (sugar-coated waffle and various commercial ice creams - not even cake today) might suit you. The rest of us have to follow the information signs that say we cannot bring a picnic, even if the very poor selection of food available is horribly unhealthy. I can't believe public money goes towards this kind of "education" for either adults or children. Please also note: when I say "restaurant", it's not. It's a kiosk with outdoor seating. If there's rain: you are wet. If it's cold: you will feel very cold indeed. There's no shelter whatsoever. Add to this that whatever you do DO NOT PUT MONEY IN THE KIDS' RIDES - they swallow your coins and then do nothing. The staff then say "not our problem, the rides don't belong to us" even though they apparently knew they are broken and continue to offer the rides on their site ... Back to the staff then: as a number of reviews on here say: rude, disinterested, not helpful, but very happy to take your EUR. That's my experience today (not for the first time). "Thanks for your understanding" the information signs say, after banning you from bringing your own, possibly even healthy, food. Hmmm. I had a rubbish time, am hungry and cold, and am happy to have left. Good place to see little German critters in their natural habitat. The park is great, especially for kids. There are free roaming animals, mainly deer and goats that you can feed from a 1 € bag bought directly at the place.
