Absolutely stunning food. My friends and I had those hammer and we weren't disappointed. Excellent variety of red wine and Gin. Will definitely be going back. What can I say but amazing in every way, lovely surroundings with fantastic food with excellent options. The beef and pork beautifully cooked and presented along with a great selection of vegetables. Great as a couple or with the whole family, reasonably priced and again a selection for your budget. Only one niggle but I guess it preference there is a old saying ' I love you like uncooked food loves salt'. We came across this little gem a few months ago and we have never been disappointed. Tonight we decided to pop in for a bite to eat after a long week at work. As we entered and approached the bar we were warmly greeted and asked what we would like to drink. After ordering our drinks and being told about the specials on offer tonight we made our way into the restaurant. We were the only people in the pub and to us that was lovely as it gave us chance to talk about our week undisturbed. We both decided we were gonna try the royale with cheese off the specials board with a side of onion rings. OMG we were not expecting what we received. The burgers came well presented, fresh and were so succulent and the onion rings were hot and crispy. One of the best burgers I have had in a long time and I would highly recommend you try one as a food lover that made me happy. When the waitress came to take our plates away we were asked if we wanted one of their many homemade desserts. I opted for the cheesecake. What a delicious dessert, it was rich and creamy and full of flavour and made just like your grandmother would make it. We would highly recommend you take the time to visit this lovely friendly establishment as we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely meal. We never leave reviews and never complain about food but our experience was so poor we felt that it was needed. We came after a day out expecting good pub food instead of poor quality at an amusement place. We were very disappointed. The food appears to be warmed up especially my toddlers mash and beans and the nuggets were dry and pale. The burgers very extremely basic and bland. I am still quite shocked and surprised given the price also Not a place I would go and eat again but a nice garden for a summer evening drink. Waited ages for food , we were a group of 6 with 2 children. Steak was asked a med and a med rare both came very well done , the mushrooms were cremated and the salad was swimming in vinaigrette. Would definitely recommend for a quiet drink in the garden thougb Decent value roast dinner here, not perfect but for a small pub at a quiet point when we got there pretty good. Food came out quickly and was hot, the meat was nicely cooked, Yorkshire puddings could have done with being a bit fresher and the lamb was a bit fatty. Otherwise no complaints with the food. Staff were pleasant and friendly, they weren't super involved but happy to help when approached. Restaurant area was a bit chilly and could have done with a small heater to help with this. Much better than going to a well known carvery chain! Price was about the same as that chain. Overall a good experience, thank you. Yet again another fantastic roast, the beef was superb and the lemon cheesecake is to die for if I could give more stars I would. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon Been visiting this pub since 2011 and eating regularly for birthdays, family meals and occasions. Visited 3 weeks ago for a birthday and food was okay, very scattered serving and few people waiting longer than others (table of 6 & 2 children) We decided to give it another ago for another birthday celebration yesterday - again same table size. Food was quite poor, portion sizes were better but quality had fallen a fair amount, we left quite disappointed. On a positive, the staff have always been polite & friendly. Lovely beer garden!
