I Finally visited this treasure, today, while on a (very rare), break,at work. Fantastic cooked breakfast! Good value,- just like being in wetherspoons!! Tasty waffle, with maple syrup/banana/blueberry. Lovely, pleasant staff, enjoyed the wide variety of background music, just loved the interior/atmosphere, so, homely. Thanks very much! I'll be back soon!! Outstanding in every way! A friend hat told us about the Wobbly Dog and suggested the curried lentil soup. Therefore, we knew we had to visit, it was perfect. We had "spicy lentil with spinach and butternut squash soup", with cheese scones. The soup and scones were so good, we had to have and cakes afterwards too. A little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. I had tea and a lemon drizzle cake. The cake was slightly dry but the icing and lemon drizzle managed to cover most of this. Friendly staff and great service. Heard only good things about the wobbly dog and now we understand why! We were greeted by a beautiful spotty pony, it's wee pal and a waggy tailed, not so wobbly, dog in the back garden. The cafe is colourful and full of local crafts, particularly good if you're fond of crocheting or knitting. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had the tasty spicy lentil soup with spinach and butternut squash and are wondering how we can recreate it at home. We also had some filled rolls and the wee person had the fruit pancakes with a wide selection of sticky sweet stuff to keep anyone happy. The cakes and bakes were to die for. The peppermint slice and chocolate fudge cake were some of the best I've tasted. The husband is thinking about returning for a slice of the victoria sponge which looks like the ones Granny used to make! Fabulous café, well worth the stop. Loved this quirky place. I wish I had time for another visit whilst in Lewis. The cakes looked amazing but I indulged in the Old English cooked breakfast. Top quality ingredients served with a smile. X Who didn’t give this establishment a 5* rating?? “I will hunt you down and then I will…”, well no, it won’t come to that but it is a really fantastic little spot. If you are anywhere near, do visit. Check opening times, it was open until 4pm when we visited, we just made it in time at around 3:30pm. A really great find, especially as: eateries and shops are few and far between in the area it seems, and those that are about are only open a few days a week, then for limited hours! Superb selection of handmade cakes and puddings. We thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Plus great too, a very nice cafetière of for me. 👍 Oh, just realised that I nearly forgot to say that the gentleman running the shop was very pleasant and friendly. Made us feel welcome. Found this place while we were touring the Butt of Lewis! Wonderful home made cakes - the biscoff cheesecake was absolutely amazing, love the carrot cake too (the frosting on that carrot cake is the best I have ever had! Very light cream cheese frosting). We also had a hearty bowl of spiced carrot and lentil soup, and bacon &egg rolls. Most importantly, the owners are very and warm. They made us feel at home! Highly recommended! Ps they are dog friendly! Best scones we’ve ever had! Homemade by the owner. Service with a smile. New owners and they are just lovely! Definitely worth a stop in for tea, and a chat. I’m an avid knitter and loved the choice of wool and local wool goods. One of our favorite memories of our trip!
