It is a large mountain-style auberge decorated with wood and vintage mountain equipment, with a nice wood stove in the winter and outdoor seating in the nice season. The menu is appealing - with french classics like the tête de veau - and executed correctly. Servings are not very large though and prices are quite high (Parisian-level). Excellent meal and wonderful location within a forest, perfect meal after a dog walk. Service was absolutely amazing and food was also fantastic. Great spot, kinda with a Twin Peaks vibe. Best table waitress I've had in France in a long time, friendly, helpful, accommodating, very un French lol. Food was good, steak fries as you'd expect, good terrine, good wine. Would return with visitors. I would not recommend this place. We waited for around 20 minutes to even get attention of the waitress. Many people were complaining that their food did not arrive or wrong food arrived. Rude waitress came after around 20 minutes and said that bar opens in 30 min even though we were for food. Not worth wasting your time. Edit: the restaurant responds quicker to the review than someone comes at the table. Yet again, rude. This is a wonderful place nestled in the Fontainebleau forest, near some beautiful walks through bizarre rock formations and forest. The atmosphere was so tranquil and relaxing. The food was outstanding, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. But what really made the experience so delightful was the lovely staff, so friendly and welcoming. It is off the beaten track but well worth the detour. It is popular so be sure to reserve your place in advance on their website. One of the best restaurant locations I have been to. Incredible meal after climbing all day - the staff are honestly so kind and let us fill our water bottles on a very hot day in Fontainebleau. So many cute dogs and a steak to die for 12/10! Wonderful cozy restaurant, like a pub and dog-friendly (including inside) but with a fine dining menu. Excellent service. House wine was €3.50 - can’t go wrong!
