A beautiful chateau with lovely gardens and amazing architecture. Built over the river it offers fantastic views from its gardens. Easy access for strollers at least to the ground floor and outdoor areas. The ticket could be slightly cheaper. Try to visit it if you are near the area. Simply stunning UNESCO recognised chateau on the water with a fascinating history. Absolutely book your timed ticket in advance. We got lucky on a weekday that we managed to book for three hours ahead on the afternoon. You'll want at least 3 hours here to enjoy the splendid castle and grounds. What a majestic chateau. The history and the gardens are amazing. When walking up to it you can feel the immense sensation of national pride and heritage. If you decide to visit, do it first thing in the morning. The crowd grows the longer you wait. Love this castle, unique architecture and beautifully decorated inside Such a beautiful château. The castle itself is well maintained and filled with interesting historical artifacts. The gardens are stunning. It’s very popular so be prepared battle at least a small crowd. A very pretty castle, kids loved the audio guides (5€ extra per set) and the info on the information boards was sufficient to get the vibe of the place and learn about it's history. The 16th century farm and gardens was a hit and had lots of different varieties of peppers, aubergines, herbs etc, along with grasses and pumpkins. The delicate lattice willow branch fence was growing well and the apple trees that had been cropped and guided to make barriers between the path and the crops was clever. My favorite so far! The château is not overwhelming, well appointed, gives you a real taste of how they lived back in the day. It’s well worth a visit. I like the place, probably because of the awesome narrative provided by the audio guide. It’s not grandiose, but has certain emotional power. But do pay attention to the public transportation. The train does not run very often, and I did wait for 3 hours to get onto the next train in a frightening quiet town. The visit for me is roughly 2 hours.
