We celebrated our here in a small circle. It was a great time. The owners were very friendly and always there in case we needed something. Everything was just as we had imagined. We had an amazing experience at Chateau de Fretoy! We came for a company retreat with a team of 32 persons and every single one of us was impressed. The pictures found online don't do justice to the ambiance of the and the entire domain that surrounds it. It was truly magnificent. But what really made our stay perfect was the service provided by the owners Geert & Renche. From the moment of booking the property we have closely been in touch. They helped us to make everything run smoothly before we even arrived. Once we were there, we really did not need to worry about anything. They did pre-arrival shoppings, they arranged a chef that made the meals for us and also during the days it was easy to contact them for last-minute changes. I would definitely this place and the hosts to anyone that is looking for a magnificent and worryless stay in Bourgogne. I went to the chateau for a friends daughters wedding. Beautiful chateau, lovely ornate rooms, swimming pool and picturesque grounds with lake. Wonderful hosts. Would highly recommend. If you are looking for a location that will make you feel like you live in your favorite romance novel: you found it. ♥️ Rénche & Geert made sure to help us as much as they could with the planning of our weekend. A BBQ on the arrival day, a pizza party, the day & a Farewell Brunch? No problem! You have so many different options and locations to choose from, I think you could fill a week full of events and could still find a new area on the stunning grounds of this chateau. ☀️ All of the providers we worked with were really, really professional and the food was delicious every single day. Rénche also offers to help with the design & planning for a very fair fee & I would highly to book this service to any couple. She knows this by heart and has a lot of experience with the providers so she can solve a lot of problems before they even occur. 🍀 We planned our with around 80 people. If you choose a bigger group just be aware that you will need a small tent to add to the dining area so everyone can fit or you can just eat outside in front of the if the weather allows it (but don’t forget that this region is known for it’s weather changes so I would also to always plan with a tent - worst case you can use it for some extra shade ☺️☝🏼). The rooms in the are well looked after and Rénche & Geert work very hard on renovating the more & more each year which is an impressive amount of work. The bathrooms are not in the rooms but they are super nicely organized so everyone can still have their privacy when taking a shower (but you might your guests to bring a pyjama or a bathrobe 😂☝🏼). Anyways, long story short: we loved our so, so much & we wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate it anywhere else. ♥️ What a fantastic place. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. 5 stars is not enough - I would give more if I could! We spent our 10th anniversary at the chateau with almost 50 of our friends and family. Everyone had a fantastic time, and they were blown away by the majestic chateau and it's beautiful grounds. The swimming pool and the tennis courts were a big hit, but for me what made the experience even more special was the warmth and generosity from the owners Renche and Geert. Our chef (from an agency recommended by a 3rd party) who was confirmed over 3 months in advance pulled out 5 days before our anniversary dinner. However Renche and Geert saved the day by finding us a replacement who they know well and have worked with in the past. As as result we were still able to enjoy a lavish three course dinner which was cooked and served with perfection, despite the short notice. I wish I lived locally so I could invite them over for dinner to say thanks! Geert also organised a wine tasting for our group, and demonstrated a great local knowledge of the well-selected wines. This was one of the weekend highlights for all participants, and Renche shared some of her homemade products with us. They also organised a local chef to cook paella one evening (highly recommended, the paella was delicious), and a pizza truck on another evening. The cherished memories of the weekend will be talked about with friends and family for years and years to come. Beautiful in a very beautiful location. At the beginning of April I had the immense privilege of staying in this superb castle; I have already been captivated by the carefully maintained green park, like the living spaces, bedrooms, the dining room, furnished and arranged with taste and impeccable cleanliness; I was also able to appreciate the warm welcome from the owners, their availability and their limitless investment.
