It was once one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, built way back the 16th century, during the Spanish colonization to the Philippines. However, on the fateful day of October 15, 2013, Bohol was severely damaged by a 7.2 intensity earthquake, Loon being near to its epicenter. It pulverized the with the other ancient churches of the province, as well as some other significant structures of the area. To date, after years of hardwork & resillience in trying to rebuild our ever beloved place of worship, Our Lady of Light (also commonly known as Birhen sa Kasilak Church) rose from its rubble like a phoenix rising majestically from the ashes!🙏❤️🙏 My beloved loon church. ♥️ Our Lady of Light Earlier today, we passed by the and decided to drop by and marvel at its architectural prowess. Muy bonita I'm not really sure why I'm reviewing a church. The reason we visited, and I drove 2 hours, is because my lola was born and raised in Loon. She's always telling stories about this and I just had to visit. The place was serene, mostly because it was a weekday and lockdown was still somehow in effect. Come visit. In that way the keep the ancestors prayers alive and among use. I think this a a nice approach. So cool but it is one of the most biggest in Bohol Was damaged last 2013 due to the 7.2 Magnitude earthquake, after 8 years it is finally restored. ❤️❤️ One of the biggest churches in Bohol.
