Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of the lovely lady who guided us, but she was truly amazing! We arrived in the middle of a heavy downpour, and I was feeling quite overwhelmed from the ride. She checked in with us multiple times to make sure we were okay and gave us a moment to settle in, which I really appreciated. My partner and I ended up being the only ones on the tour, and it made the feel very personal. We got to see so much, ask lots of questions, and of course, taste the delicious chocolate! At the end of the tour, we were surprised with hot cacao and the most delicious snacks – especially the banana turon – such a treat and totally unexpected. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour. We received a warm welcome at the reception, and Nhovey, our guide, showed us around the farm, educating us from the beginning, all the way to the process of chocolate. A very knowledgeable young lady answered all my millions of questions. It was my best ever. VIP treatment, including unexpected tea (yes, tea made from the bean husk), hot with freshly made banana turon and suman. My dream came true, best day ever, worth every peso! Saw the sign for the farm on the side of the road and decided to check it out - glad we did, because we ended up having a great experience! We arrived at 2pm without any reservations and thought to just visit the shop, but ended up having the tour. We had a knowledgeable guide, who told us about the history of cocoa in the Philippines, the process of growing cocoa trees as well as products. We got to try some fresh cocoa fruite (very tasty!) and make our own from the scratch. We got a chance to taste the product at various phases and were offered some other local treats while our was cooling.
