Good children's , good open spaces and woods , can feed the ducks too Nice to round. Loads of dog walkers about. Great place for a picnic. Play area is ok for little ones. Main path is in need of some repairs as the edge is breaking away. Went for a run here it had beautiful scenic views of the reservoir majestic so peaceful, filling you with a sense of wonder, pleasing to the eyes. Very nice out, with two decent play areas for the kids and a path down to the reservoir to see the ducks it's an ideal place to take the kids. The woods are lovely to stroll through, with an abundance of wildlife, especially the squirrels. Never seen so many in one place and quite tame, came within a few feet, literally. The kids were thrilled to see them up close and being so playful. Parking could be better but otherwise its a nice place to spend an hour or two. Nice through what is a wooded area, with loads of wildlife, then down to the waters edge to feed the ducks, coots and swans with bread, before taking the little one to play on the swings etc in one of the playgrounds. Very enjoyable! Nice little walk, dogs n kids allowed, 2 parks, fields for dogs and woods for bear hunts What a beautiful little with amazing views over Rishton Reservoir which also doubles as the East Lancs Sailing Club lake. The was created by the Dunkenhalgh Estate in 1953 and is beautifully maintained. There’s a circular footpath takes you from the entrance passed the reservoir, where there are plenty of water birds to see, and a wooded area with footpaths through for more adventurous dogs and children. The footpaths are well maintained and so the pathways are suitable for wheelchairs, etc. However, there is a slope down to the reservoir which you’ve then got to be strong enough to push a wheelchair back up again (my mum managed it!). For children there is a separate toddler playground and then one for older children which is a good idea. The only downsides I could find were that you have to on the main road outside the as there’s no car or convenient side roads to in and there’s nowhere to get coffee. Nevertheless, it’s a lovely place for dog walkers or those with children and with beautiful scenery and plenty of birds to spot. A great park, playgrounds and playing fields. The woods are alive with fungi at the moment and the reservois is crowded with birds. All in all a very pleasant walk. A nice place with reservoir and sight seeing! Really enjoy coming this end Nice wooded area to view squirrels and birds. A playground for toddlers and a playground for older children. Plenty of space for football and cricket if wanted. Beautiful clean for kids. Nice views of the water. but nice for peaceful or to just sit and enjoy the view and peace. Nice place to relax and unwind.
