Great theatre with a new foyer and bar area. The view from the balcony is exceptionally good. The leg room is a bit limited but no worse than most old theatres. Lovely little theatre this one in the heart of the Colne community with a rich rich history. The staff were really nice and the drinks and prices in general were very reasonable. I'm looking forward to attending an event here again soon. Had a fantastic evening here first visit for James Bond Theme with the Swing City Band live, fantastic singing by the local singer's too! As the deaf parent who does not enjoy musical theater it was with some reluctance I found myself at the Hippodrome. Our 16 year old wanted to see his friends in the show and my wife was too unwell to take him. I don't think I have ever been in here before. I was very pleasantly surprised. The venue was comfortable, warm and pleasantly old fashioned. The show was Grease, and it was actually better than expected. It's not going to convert me to a fan but coupled with the venue it was a good experience. I went for the local arts and crafts for unique Christmas presents , bought loads of local gifts . What a great place, was there for the great British R&B festival, good beers, great atmosphere and pie and peas. All staff v helpful and with big smiles on their faces, well done Colne As a disabled patron, I must say the staff were brilliant. I attended the Colne Blues Festival and the staff could not be more accommodating, even carrying my drinks to my seat and arranging with other staff to get me out after the show and past lots of people safely.. It was my first visit and as always I was a little nervous as you don’t know the layout but a lift is available (I think this is a recent modification). Two sets of toilets one at entry level and one at lower level where the stage is. I wouldn’t hesitate in going again. 10/10 Great night at an Unthanks concert. Excellent venue, recently renovated. Good facilities, bars, loos. Recommend.
