You can see some flowers and animals too. 4. They provide a tour for you to walk on top of the arena. You just need to contact the worker there. You can see Porto from top of it. Presumably the audience has a good of the stage, but access was blocked off when we had a look around. Good venue for concerts. We saw The National and Bartees Strange perform here. Chose to get standing room/general admission tickets, even though the venue sold out, it never felt too crowded. Lines got insanely long for drinks, but moved at an okay pace. There were plenty of restrooms. Sound system was solid. A typical place where it shows that mismanaged tourism policy of this country ruined the cost of living and long run demise of its tourism industry. The ticket to go up this small costs 9 euros. I paid to see what it’s like, but leaves me feeling that more people will not come back to Porto. What an irony; low cost attracted tourists, and mismanagement of the industry leads to its own failure. The tour guide (Maria) gave us a nice overview of the crystal palace history and how it turned into a stadium. We, two tourists, went to the to stroll and look at the sunset, and in search for a toilet, entered the arena, where some gastronomy was served, and asked, also if there was a public nearby. We were told by someone at the food stand that we'd have to consume something to enter the which is closed by a coded lock, and that the public that's nearby is closed. Spoiler: we later found it and discovered it was open. We then bought some drinks, coca cola - from a can and quite expensive. The staff was courteous. The cans were left closed and we were told the code for the right away, so people at the drinks stand knew what was up as well. The drinks were cool and refreshing, at least, and the single open was clean enough. But I have the strong feeling that we were intentionally misled about the status of the public toilet, which left a bitter aftertaste. Had we been told the truth, or gotten the service to enter the anyway, I might still have consumed something, it looked nice enough there. Dont get me wrong €9 per person is a lot, however the person we went up with was very informative about the city giving us lots of suggestions and facts that made it worth the price. The was still good but i wouldn’t pay just for the Very disappointing experience. The receptionist with curly hair was extremely rude and disrespectful. When we asked politely about the exhibition in Spanish, she replied in a dismissive tone, saying “we are in Portugal,” instead of simply providing information. For a venue that welcomes international visitors, such an attitude is unacceptable and leaves a terrible impression.
