St. Fillans was a fantastic visit. We got the key for a donation of £2 a very atmospheric place. the £2 admission is fine and it doesn't take long to get the keys from the cocoa either, but the really is very small. I understand the spiritual aspect and the serenity you get to experience, but I cannot understand why this place is so famous. at the end of the day, it's just the least impressive or religious place I've been to. It's £1 per adult and it goes to the upkeep of the cave. It's intregin when you look through the gate as to what might be inside. When inside there not much to look at.There is a stair case to no where and two rooms. We were in for 10 mins and had to walk back up the hill to hand the key back. Small in very unusual location before you read small information brochure. To get in you need to pop it to the Chocolate for a key to the gate and contribute £1 per adult, children no fees. The walk to get the key takes longer than what your in the place. The charges £1 each for the key and £10 returnable deposit cash. I visited the place based on a report in a travel show on Czech Television. And I was disappointed. It wasn't even worth the one pound entrance fee. You have to pick up the key (for a deposit of 10 GBP) at the nearby cafe The Cocoa Tree Shop. The itself is just a hole in a rock about 50 meters long, divided into two parts at the end. There is only an altar and information boards in it. To tell the truth, the town of Pittenweem has a nicer atmosphere. Lovely little cool cave, very atmospheric A nice quick place to visit. Very unusual with lots of history. I recommend reading the history of St Fillan and the as it is really interesting. We spent five minutes here but the town itself went spent around two hours as it is a very beautiful town. A really neat with interesting history! It’s much bigger than I expected.
