We've been looking at new places to try in the area and decided to give this place a go. It's in a popular area with several other local restaurants. Based on this we made sure to book a in advance. Well worth the trouble as it was busy and pretty full when we arrived. It was an interesting and different menu, offering Siri Lankan and South Indian food. While there was plenty of meat options, there was also a strong vegetarian showing as well. the actual quality of the food was very tasty and enjoyable. The was good and friend, and we didn't wait long considering how busy they were. Price was good as well. Only slight letdown was the noise level, lots of people tends to make a place louder, but it wasn't helped by the booming background music. Once again POP DOMS food was amazing, fresh cooked, extremely tasty, crew very efficient. Can't fault anything, the place was busy, we turned up without a booking and we're welcomed and accommodated. The place got busier, the quality of and food never altered. Fab place. 100% recommend! with some querky things on it like the Dosa's. Really tasty fab food. Meat was really tender. was fab. Mango Lassi was amazing! Thankyou :) We visited Pop'dom for the first time after reserving a for three adults and a child. Upon arrival, we were promptly given our table, which was a good start. However, the experience quickly took a downturn: We waited around 10-15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. After ordering, it took nearly an hour and a half for our food to arrive. Even after checking in about our food after the first hour, we still waited more than 30 minutes before it was finally served. We requested ketchup, but it was not brought to us until after we had finished eating. While some members were polite and friendly, the overall was disappointing. What made the experience worse was seeing another group—who arrived after us and ordered almost the same dishes—get served, finish their meal, and leave before we even received our food. It was clear from their interactions with the that they were regulars, and it felt like there was some bias in how guests were treated. Overall, our visit was frustrating due to the long wait times and lack of attention, especially as first-time customers. While some were nice, the clear favoritism and slow left us very disappointed. I didn’t know about this restaurant . My wife had heard about it from her colleagues. And I am so glad she did. Easily one of the best restaurants around hull. Anyone loving south indian style food - this is the place to go. Very nice atmosphere. We had the lamb leg soup and lentil soup - very nice . The dosa was amazing and tried the special biriyani- tasty as well. All food tasted great. But the best by a mile - was the lassi. Tried the sweet lassi - for the 1st time in uk - lassi tasted like lassi . The mango lassi was also very very good . Definitely would recommend anyone to go. The price was surprisingly reasonable . The only slight issue is the restaurant is a bit small - you may need to call and reserve a seat. Overall 10/10. Will visit again definitely and try the other items. 😇😇 I was staying in Cottingham and found this lovely place on Just Eat. I ordered in a fish curry with vadai and rice and was blown away by it so I visited in person the following night and had the most wonderful Chettinad chicken curry with coconut rice and sides. It was delicious and the were lovely and friendly. The place is unassuming with scratched tables and nothing fancy about it but that adds into the authenticity of a genuine Indian (not Pakistani/Bangladeshi) restaurant. I'm giving the place a solid 10/10. Its the best Indian food Ive had outside of India. Very highly recommended. 5 of us went tonight to celebrate a birthday & mother's day. The food was absolutely beautiful. The flavours and spices so different in the dishes we chose. I can’t wait to go back & try some more dishes off the menu! The dosa is a must if you have never tried before. We booked a which I would advise as it was very busy. The are really lovely & nothing is too much for them. Amazing food and price, good dosa & Briyani. Friendly service. Book in advance for big tables as they are normally busy. Halal. I have been coming here for a 3 years now and the food is amazing however on my last visit 30/7/25 the experience was awful. I booked a for 3 and was looked at like I was a crazy person when I said I booked a . The was one of the worst I have ever encountered. was rude and seems very angry . The food when it did arrive was 10/10 but the was so poor . Normally the has always been brilliant and always had a laugh with the but on this occasion I was given dirty looks multiple times and it all felt very uncomfortable. Sensational food awful service. 😞 Ended up coming back for a second day in the row. Having seen the masala dosa on a Facebook post whilst working in the area my husband treated me to a weekend away. After a five hour journey we couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. The food was amazing, although fully booked the was great, nothing was too much trouble. Decided to go back tonight to try more things on the menu, very authentic Indian food, at such reasonable prices. Definitely worth the journey. After excellent meal , all of us highly satisfied. Food was hot and large portions. was as were friendly and helpful with menu. This evening had a takeaway delivery and was highly satisfied. Food arrived hot and ample portions. Got takeaway here the other night, had paneer kotthu and really enjoyed it! Not too spicy but still very tasty and tastes authentic. Would highly recommend. Delivery came when it said it would! Can take about an hour to hour and a half for delivery so keep in mind when ordering! I had a take away which was very disappointing, I had a chicken korma, with pilau rice and a plain naan. The korma was in a standard plastic box but was about 3/4 sauce and 6 small piece of chicken very poor value for £10, but the naan bread was probably the best one I have had from a take away.
