I took a disabled grumpy disabled neighbour, the coped with him perfectly. I will definitely go back again but take someone with me. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The restaurant has delicious food. I recommend it. Fell upon this village pub as it was walking distance from my nephews party athe hall just up the road. Welcoming warm fire, welcoming bar and landlady and even better the food smelt amazing. We sat opposite the bar and had our table cleaned promptly. We perused the menu not expecting to order food but we did and boy it didn't disappoint! Such generous portio s, home cooked food and great value for money. A real gem! The fire was lit and smelt amazing. The food was delicious. Really fresh salad to go with my gammon. Generous portion sizes, too. Definitely recommend it and will be back again soon. We stayed here for just one night. The rooms are well equipped and also has a mini fridge with milk etc . The pub it self was and friendly. Booked in here for an overnight stay. The room was and well furnished with a added touch of continental breakfast in the room. We also went to the pub for some food. Tasty delicious and well priced proper pub grub that seems to have disappeared these days from eateries these days. It was also full of locals chatting and having banter at the bar. Highly recommended. Stayed for 2 nights. The owner and bar were efficient, friendly and really helpful giving information about the area and showing us around the accomodation. When the owner realised we were visiting for my partners cancer treatment at Cottingham Centre she asked if we would like the heating left on continuously. Thank you that was really appreciated. The accomodation was well furnished and very well maintained and clean. I would recommend without hesitation and will return. location, quiet surrounded by open countryside a resident pony and close to Beverley. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming and clients alike, open log fire places and a couple of pub dogs. What more do you need? pub, the ladies who run the pub are , nothing ever top much trouble. Good selection of beers and food is usually very good in deed. Definitely worth a visit or two We have stayed at “The Ship” several times…the most recent was yesterday. As ever we received a warm welcome and enjoyed a good meal in the pub. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are quiet and we like having a mini fridge with milk and continental breakfast provided. Don't know about the hotel side of things, as we're local, but the pub and beer garden are great. Friendly staff, excellent service and great food. A much easier walk than anticipated as well. Looking forward to trying out the Sunday roast next time, it comes highly recommended! Met up with friends for a night. The room was clean, a good size and comfortable. Great value for the price.
