Another big plus is the large parking area, so it’s easy and convenient to visit. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy nature! Alkazar is a beautiful large of Larisa. It's grounds offer people the chance to do a wide variety of activities like walking, body excersesing and cycling too. It's ideal place for relaxing, clearing your thoughts and taking fresh air. This has everything you need, even if you go cycling or just walking. Trees for shadow, river, paths, playgrounds, fountains, a small theatre, a place for children to learn the signs of the road, a modern statue of revolution... The Alcazar has been for over a century a true oasis for the people living in Larisa as it combines the rich natural environment with the dew coming from Pineios river that flows nearby. This place is not maintained at all. Perfect for a low budget dystopian movie set…. Just a waste of time and a huge disappointment…. The itself is enormous compared to other Greek parks. It's a bit dirty I have to say and some parts of it are not well lighted. The colourful fountains only work at certain times which gives the impression that the is dead due to the lack of people-lightning effects. Hello. Nature lover here. Iam an avid reviewer of parks. I love parks. They are my favourite thing ever. I visited Larisa for its well known Alcazar. And I have to admit I was blown away by its charm, beautiful variety of flowers and animals (including elephants). Much respect to Larisians for taking good care of the grass and animals (including elephants).
