There is a 360 degree horizon outline market on the inside of the structure On a clear day it's a great place to familiarize yourself while the central and even western fells, as well as towards Yorkshire. It has great panoramic of the lake district, the Yorkshire dales, and the hills around Morecambe Bay. It is in a sparse woodland filled with wildlife, including Robins, Wrens, Jackdaws, and Ravens. It's a short from the car park, but I'd recommend walking up from Kendal if you have the time. I love Scout Scar - totally underrated and great at sunrise, sunset. and you can see to Blackpool on a clear day and into the lake district. On special nights you can view aurora when we get a KP 5 or KP6. Great place for a for all ages. Best to keep dogs on a lead. Not far from The Black Labrador pub which Is dog friendly and serves excellent food - suggest booking here as very popular. Excellent to do with a young child.
