Great local for the locals of Kendal and surrounding villages. Ideal for dog walking and also great overlooking Morecambe Bay. Great footpaths through all the lime stone. Stay away from the edge very steep drop on the west side of the Scar. Stunning Was unlucky it was zero visibility in July but loved the there and the surrounding area. Won't mark it down because of global warming! 😃 The mushroom is the locals name for a viewing spot on the Scar. There is a 360 degree horizon outline market on the inside of the structure On a clear day it's a great place to familiarize yourself while the central and even western fells, as well as towards Yorkshire. Well worth a visit. Great easy to blow away the Easter cobwebs. Beautiful place to Lovely place, very busy with walkers . Good place to dogs . Lovely . Plenty benches on the way but no bins or toilets at the car park so be prepared Great location and brilliant views. Easy to get also. Beautiful spot easy access for stunning across the lakes the mushroom is very clever Great on a clear day, Lovely not to busy Boring Beautiful walk, stunning in the sunshine. Shame the map of the surrounding area was missing from inside the mushroom A shelter and viewpoint on top of the scout scar crags. It has great panoramic of the lake district, the Yorkshire dales, and the hills around Morecambe Bay. It is in a sparse woodland filled with wildlife, including Robins, Wrens, Jackdaws, and Ravens. It's a short from the car park, but I'd recommend walking up from Kendal if you have the time. I love Scout Scar - totally underrated and great at sunrise, sunset. and you can see to Blackpool on a clear day and into the lake district. On special nights you can view aurora when we get a KP 5 or KP6. Great place for a for all ages. Best to keep dogs on a lead. Great for dog walking and 360 degree at the mushroom on a clear day - breath taking. Two car parks just across the road. Not far from The Black Labrador pub which Is dog friendly and serves excellent food - suggest booking here as very popular. Excellent to do with a young child. My 4 year old thought she could see the whole world at the top and has since asked to do more walks. Easy stroll from car park Been walking up and down the scar since I was little. Therapeutic and healing for the soul. 360 degree and stunning view of Arnside Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
