If you’re visiting the lakes district, and you appreciate coffee, this is well worth going out of your way for. A bold claim, but anyone who has tried their will not dispute this. We were going to visit the Lovingly Artisan bakery in the same food park last year and while researching the area we came across this inimitable gem. Whatever we have tried here, we have found to be out of this world. They are real specialists, and the is very well stocked with from around the world. The ladies staffing the place are extremely knowledgeable about their wares and make recommendations about which to use for your particular cup of coffee. is unhurried, and they are really very in tune with their products and with what they do – very obvious expertise. I particularly enjoy their Casa (house) for my espresso. Their hot chocolate is also very luscious. Very reasonably priced too given the supreme quality of their coffee. Pity there is nowhere to sit and enjoy their (other than a couple of bistro chairs outside) so essentially this is a takeaway only. They also sell paraphernalia. Their pairs admirably with delicious pastries from the Lovingly Artisan Bakery a few yards away. The place is now a must-do stop on our every visit to the Lakes. I stopped by there in person one time and was blown away by the filter coffee. If we weren't just passing through we'd definitely be back again. It was a 200 mile round trip for me to visit Rinaldo’s last week. However, I’ve been after a new set-up for a long time, so it was well worth it! After speaking on the phone a couple of days prior, Rin set aside some face-to-face time to run through what my chosen machine and grinder could do. He was thorough but not overwhelming, with a clear passion for what he does. A genuinely nice guy! I left with not only a new ECM Technika V and Eureka Mignon Oro but also with sufficient knowledge to use and look after both, when I got home. So far, so good and I’m really happy with my purchases. In summary, if you’re after a new machine, want to actually talk to real people, supporting a local economy, this is the place for you. Plus, the is blooming good too! Rinaldo's provides excellent tea and in addition to high quality brewing equipment including high end gear for home brewing. It also has its own roastery and is surrounded by the beautiful Lake District with easy access from Kendal and ample free parking.. I visited Rinaldo's 3 weeks ago to collect an machine and grinder, both from ECM plus some accessories because I wanted to brew some decent at home. As I was a complete novice, Rinaldo set up the machines for me and spent over 1 hour explaining how to get the best out of the machines, including how to adjust them correctly when confronted with a different type of coffee. He then used the machine to produce quite the best I had ever tasted! A tour of the establishment followed, including the roastery and and a machine like my one cut cleanly through the middle which helped me understand the mechanics, and crucially how to care for it correctly. Rinaldo gave me a free competition shower screen and silicone gasket which he explained would last longer and be easier to clean than the original one. I found him friendly and easy to talk to and he helped me clear up a few points on the phone a couple of weeks later. Rinaldo has an extensive knowledge of all things and I would like to attend one of his barista courses at a later date, (fully booked currently). I can thoroughly recommend him to anyone interested in superb tea, and/ or brewing gear.
