Although our is nice, quiet and comfy bed, access by very steep tight stairs was hard work. Also being at the top floor the hot water supply to the shower had little pressure, couldn’t get hot enough and would suddenly become low flow probably as other users downstairs used water. The meal in the was EXCELLENT, Stayed one night. A stopover on a roadtrip, so not used to explore the area so can't comment on its convenience for Kendal. The was lovely. Very comfortable. Dinner was too and I couldn't fault the service. Would definitely again if I was in the area. A stop here on our way home. We only stopped for a drink but the food being served looked delicious. staff, atmosphere with gorgeous views. We will be back. Sadly we were disappointed by the lack of having had to wait an hour to get our food. The 2 different cheese burgers were excellent, the fish and chips were very tasty sadly the vegetarian curry was very disappointing. The 2 waiters and chef did their best but were overwhelmed by the volume of customers. It is a very Inn. This is a great little pub to stop at when en route elsewhere. are and made some amazing recommendations for food. I had the chicken kebab starter and tender stem broccoli (cooked in garlic butter) and was not disappointed. The cappuccino was ok, though had a bit of a burnt taste to it but that easily happens and quite common when you have oat milk. I stayed on a pub stop over in my campervan. The location was really easy to find. Beautiful location 🩵 just a 10 min uber ride away from the main centre. Staff were and friendly. Interior was cosy but modern with wonderful window seats to soak in the views. The food was stunning. I ate the lamb roast one day and had the chorizo and truffle mash with pigs in blankets. Really tasty. Toilets were and clean too! Will definitely return ❤️ Really well decorated, extremely dog-friendly inn with a very bed! We loved how this accommodation was located outside of the “tourist belt” but near many attractions. We also loved the unique market across the street with artisan baked goods, meat, and produce. The only down side was the street noise. Stopped on for a drink after a walk in the lakes first visit in many years. warm welcome, choice of drinks and service. decor, rather full for an afternoon so must be worth another visit, I would like to dine if when visiting again place, dog friendly, roasts and atmosphere. Rooms are had everything you need essential wise, doggo had a welcome bundle and was a view. Staff are and helpful and love dogs. Definitely worth a stop off if your planning to near Kendal or fancy a meal. We stopped here for a sunday roast in the evening time. We had a window table. The food was really good, only downfall as they did not have a white meat option - there was only 2 types of beef or Ham which was a slight shame but this if just a preference. Food was well cooked and well presented. were and helpful We didn’t here but stopped here for lunch and it was wonderful! The food was fabulous and we thought the price was very reasonable! The gravy is beautiful!! Honestly we would go back just for that! We were very tempted by their roast as it is available every day!! The cheesecake was also very beautiful. We honestly have no complaints. We would go again very happily! Booked 3 nights over NYE and ended up staying 2. We left early only the double bed was 2 singles pushed together (not uncommon) but one side was firm and and the other was like a hammock it was so soft and my partner got no sleep (room 1). The weren’t particularly or welcoming, but the food in the was and it was a location for exploring the Lake District. for a spot off but car obviously needed. Fantastic at the gateway inn. Super bed and welcome pack waiting for our dog too. We had supper in the which was absolutely delicious. Our was small but very clean and with a modern bathroom. Vegan options on the menu too Stayed here last night on our way to Scotland as its about halfway to our destination, and a very choice it was! A welcome from Ionela the manager, what a lady! The whole place is very clean, well presented, and beautifully furnished, the is very clean and comfortable, shower, a touch with with the local hand made chocolates in the on arrival, had dinner last night which was excellent, all the are excellent, wine too, and just had a breakfast before we continue on our way, all in all a and we have booked to again on our way home next week, highly recommended! David & Helen Update: Stayed again last night before heading home, excellent again! Another very warm welcome, this time from Emma, another really lady, the food and service last night was again superb, as was breakfast this morning, the same lady who served us last week was on duty again, another lady, a pattern emerging here, the here are great! We will definitely be back the next time we are in this part of the country 10/10 Ate here in the early evening when the in the hotel we were staying only did breakfast. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and after our meal we were presented with a beautifully decorated plate of cakes. Would highly recommend and we will most definitely be back x Well, what can I say... Another dinner, cooked perfectly and served by lovely, staff. Tonight we tried the steak and Stilton pie from the specials menu, with a bottle of champagne... naturally! The food, welcome and atmosphere is second to none. Thank you! ☺️ We would just like to thank you guys for providing an amazing day for our wedding meal. Service was exceptional, the food was especially the famous roast dinner and the pigs in blankets!
