You can spend hours enjoying nature. Lovely play area with fantastic cafe and toilet facilities. Lovely around the lake too with plenty of birds to see. You can buy bird feed in the Cafe too for the kids to feed the ducks and geese. Some swans nesting during our visit and a few coots and moor hens to see too. Great way to spend a few hours and free parking too. Lovely cafe and lovely walks, dog friendly, good for families and couples and everyone certainly put smile on my face 😊 Pretty park, nice circular around the lakes. Nice river for dogs to paddle in. Cafe seems a bit run down (didn’t go in) and park equipment for kids being renewed. Free parking too. Wonderful walks around the lake. On Sundays there is a model boat group that you can see the model boats in the water. Plenty of wildlife to look at and the playground is wonderful for children, lovely little cafe too We now start our daily puppy along the river from the Woodland Road Sports & Social Club, all the way upto the Boating Lake. Our now off lead walks, are a totally whole new experience (compared with earlier on lead ones). Our puppy absolutely loves it here. She gets to & run around with her friends, making new doggy friends every day. People are always so friendly & happy to let our dogs socialise. We spend at least 2hrs a day here, getting covered in mud & totally worn out. We're so grateful we met someone who told us about this place. We'd now be lost without our daily adventures. A great place for everyone looking for a safe place to with their dogs off lead & guaranteed for plenty of doggy socialising. I cannot recommend this beautiful place enough. It is a great little park for families, dogs, and keen anglers. Plus, the Boat House Cafe serves ice creams. Lovely park, lots of nice facilities for the younger children to access. However, a lot of older youths (approx 14-15 years) do come and congregate there. They did take over the children's bike and scooter area (yard with a painted on road and zebra crossings). At one point they nearly crashed their bike into a pregnant woman sat on the side. So just be mindful.
