I come every year and it never disappoints. A good day out (even with the rain) but not without it's issues. It is crazy busy, there is no were near enough seating, resulting in most people standing around eating. The evening session had a fair few closed stalls, and again not enough seating but the live music was brilliant. Well worth a visit but bring a chair!! Food from producers from all over Wales & the UK. Get yourself a stroller ticket for access to 6 venues. Cheese & wine at Tiverton place, Fun & frolics +cookery for the kids and cooking over fire & music, talks and bars at the castle. Lots of foods Stalls selling all you can imagine and more in the market hall and brewery yards. lining Neville St & Cross street. So much to see and do it's not to be missed. This is a long running and thoroughly enjoyable festival. Apparently, this is Europe's best food festival. I thoroughly enjoy going to this food festival. You can sample many delicacies including homemade. There is so much to see and do in the and in and around the town. There are some events you have to pay for. Why not go along and see what you think. Always a pleasure to visit, however the rain on the first day was pretty torrential. Not sure who arranges this event, the tickets are way to expensive, not really that impressed. why on earth don't they arrange the event in one of the green areas around Abergavenny. It seems to me they are hurting local businesses by having it spread over the whole of the centre when it would be so much better in one place. The staffing of this event must be so ridiculously high ?? 1 entrance 1 lot of staff quite a poorly organised event and definitely not worth the money £17.00 to essentially be allowed to browse a reduced selection of food is far too expensive. Many of the vendor’s prices are also now far too high. There are very limited tastings available and although there are a few demonstrations and speeches it is, again, too little for what you pay. There’s little contingency/concession made for bad weather - even a covered dining area by the street food would have been a simple thing to do. And as for the party at the castle, what a joke! £30 for a bloke in a sparkly top to curate a line dance for two hours along with about six overpriced food and a bar. Don’t even get me started on how pathetic the fireworks were. Seen better at the local village hall freebie. Unfortunately, the is a sad shadow of its former self. It is no longer a proud representation of Wales and Welsh produce! It feels as though it has been ruined by the over-commercialisation of it. After many years of supporting it, we won’t return. £17.50 charge to basically go shopping. No thanks. Just enjoyed the food at Treorchy. Free admission there. I think the organisers have scored an own goal £18 tickets for overpriced food and upcharging on extras which should be included. The castle shut earlier than stated and despite the weather forecast showing there'd be rain, there was no accommodating this with gazebos etc. Best meal I had of the day was a morrisons stir fry in the evening, won't be rushing back next year. The Abergavenny Food seems to have declined significantly. It's a shadow of its former self, with far fewer vendors than in past years. Compared to 2019, entire sections—like the area around The Priory—are no longer in use, and I'd estimate the number of has dropped by at least a third. The variety of vendors has also suffered. In the Brewery Yard area, there are noticeably fewer food options. The seems to have lost its focus on unique, local products; for example, there's an overabundance of gin stalls, while Welsh food and produce are poorly represented. This makes me wonder if vendors are being charged too much to participate.
