This place has all the makings of a place to go fishing. It's a shame when we went the was on the slow side. I understand that but it was a shame the pod we booked had the door lock broken it was not cleaned at all. There was rubbish all round the place. The toilets anf shower are disgusting and toilets had no seats on them. The bins were overflowing. Come on guys it could be so much more than what you are doing with it now. It won't put me off booking again with them but I think I will wait a while until I go again. Beautiful place to be, and comforts. If you want to from the comfort of your own deck, do it here!! You won't be disappointed. Fished the horseshoe, this is an excellent venue, second of many visits to come. Tackle shop is great, and the staff are really very helpful,,,, nothing is too much trouble. Forgot I was low on stick mesh, no probs, they're stocked well in the shop. 7 days of bliss 😀🤞 My son caught a 24 lb beauty , patience paid off , 2 night stay at the cabins , Absolutely cracking venue Our New Year's Eve weekend stay at Pochard on the Overflow was delightful. The accommodation comfortably housed 2 adults and 2 kids, offering a breathtaking view of a private lake. The cleanliness of the bedding was impeccable, ensuring a cozy and hygienic atmosphere. The hot tub was kept hot throughout our stay and was amazing even in December weather. The well-equipped kitchen met all our needs, featuring a full oven, hobs, electric kettle, toasters, and microwaves. With two fridges, one standard size and another slightly smaller, everything was neatly organized and in good condition. The accommodation also boasted modern amenities, including two TVs with smart capabilities for streaming services, and high-speed broadband. Despite challenging weather conditions, the experience was enjoyable, yielding a satisfying catch of 11 small carp, each weighing up to approximately 5lb. Good family fun. I wil he back shortly on my own to tackle the bigger lake! What a beautiful place. Our , the king fisher was so lush and cosy and incredibly clean. Had everything you needed too, even down to a fan which was a life saver. The shower was heavenly and I literally led in bed watching Netflix and reading while my partner spent the weekend out side the door practically. It was one of the nicest weekends iv had away. Wasn’t cheap but I felt it was somehow also worth it in some way. The shop there isn’t the best but it has basics. The Anglian shop was amazing. The wasn’t feeding so that was gutting but it was genuinely great. Will defo be going back. I have been here twice now first stayed a merlin then second at gooseander. Had a brilliant time on both occasions. Couldn’t fault the place one bit. Cabins were lovely and clean. Everything you need and is great. All the staff are friendly and approachable. place to go. Thank you. What a beautiful place I treated my husband to it for his 40th birthday and he wasn’t disappointed . Peaceful and relaxing I had the bonus of the hot tub whilst hubby fished .loved waking up in the mornings to such a beautiful view the staff were lovely and friendly too! We have already booked to return in a few months highly recommend!! complex and plenty of good First time back here since it was a day ticket venue and only the was the specimen lake .. Well first time back Such a shock.. Fished what usef to be one of the day ticket lakes.. Found human excrement and used toilet paper behind the pod . Swims and pegs overgrown.. Litter everywhere thrown in bushes and margins .. In 24hrs didn't see anyone walking around doing rig checks or even general litter picking.. Bankside needs maintenance.. Shop hardly had anything in there Not like I remember with several bivys on display.. Rods on stands . Aisles of bait And brands that I could see no longer there.. It used to be a premier fishery .. Now im afraid its far from premier Beautiful we stayed on the last year. Stayed here with my wife in the Robin (Bridge Pond) for 3 nights and the facilities were immaculate. Good fun fishing, managed 11 in total despite the hot weather, ranging from 10 - 18lbs. (Fish the margins). The staff were very welcoming and helpful, even noticing my wife was pregnant and coming round to the to turn the temperature down on the hot tub, so she too could use it. Definitely coming back to this premium venue. There is no agenda just don’t want other people getting the same bad experience. Don’t stay in harrier or on oxbow lake. cabin was dirty and decking was damaged and dangerously fix-ish, apparently was a manufactured fault that was known about for months, hot tub was broken and needed a new part, fridge was broken and half the cutlery and pans were missing. after complaining I was told it’s not that bad and no one else has complained so it’s fine, Boss was very rude!! Please don’t spend your money, this place isn’t worth it!!!
