Been here a few times and enjoyed a couple of walks in the area and meals in the and visitor centre. Today's was an attempt at the circular around the reservoir. Not 100% successful as I lost the early on and ended up taking some country lanes and only picked up the circular route a few miles later, which was signposted well from then on. Some new views and a pleasant walk, but you can't around the edge of the reservoir, the path takes you away from it at various point. Good place for windsurfing, SUP, dinghy sailing etc. Reasonable amount of parking spaces. If walking one of the scenic routes, be aware trails are not well sign posted and terrain is variable. facility is basic, not the most welcoming of staff, dirty tables, long wait even when not busy, saves only by the outdoor seating on balcony overlook the reservoir. Had a great afternoon fishing here for trout. The is well stocked, course fishing also available. A wide selection of sports is also available and staff are friendly. A gift shop and a really good are recent additions. The food is well presented and tasty! Beautiful views and so peaceful. Easy walking trail. Just a fantastic place to relax & unwind. If you are into sports, this is the place for you too. Lovely place, great views and walks. Not far from pontypool in car 5-10 minutes. Staff were friendly even though it's was almost closing time. Nice place to and get fresh air with different trails you can take. Great if you want to do watersport activities but we only went there in the late evening to have a look Beautiful place and well cared for....cafe/ restaurant very clean and fantastic views. Downside is similar to other Welsh venues, food and ancillaries are pricey....£6.50 for 2 ice pops....joke However the biggest irony is that this one of the largest fresh lakes in south Wales, but does not provide either a wash basin or hose tap to refill bottles at the north car park toilet area.... duhhh!!!?? I've been here many times. So many walks. Lovely area. Great cafe. Parking is cheap £3 a day. Beautiful scenery of the and seeing so many sports. Lovely place to go for a walk, participate in sports or just sit and enjoy the view from the balcony, or the benches around about. There are a few picnic tables with benches whilst some bring their own picnic chairs, books and thermos flasks to while away a sunny afternoon. Has a very easy going vibe. Parking is free, there is disabled parking available close to the visitors centre too. Toilets are free to use whether you use the or not and are modern and clean. The prices in the are very reasonable considering the view you get. The grounds are well kept. Just a stunning place to be shared and enjoyed by all. Check their website for information and booking sports, and also details of the trial walks around the reservoir. Well done Dwr Cymru! Great place to visit for a coffee or lunch, to do waterspouts or taste a around the - it’s a fairly easy but long walk, if you do the whole loop. Brilliant walk! Breathtaking views over cwmbran and Newport in the distance! Heartwarming memorials! takes a comfortable 1½-2 hours Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
