The statue towers above the trees, and is located on the Ebbw Fach Trail near the Ebbw river. The footpath is high quality and well maintained, ideal for bikes and walkers alike. It's a dog friendly area with dog mess bins. There is also a nature pond with a dipping platform,ideal for kids. A really lovely, interesting place for a with the whole family. More information on the statue and local history can be seen in Ty Ebbw Fach in the heritage room, run by volunteers only a 10 minute away. I would highly recommend Such a fabulous memorial statue. What a walk, everyone is so nice and friendly. So much to see, fresh air to smell especially if you come from smoggy city town centre like London/Birmingham/Manchester. The area around the guardian is full of wildflowers and brimming with wildlife, perfect to wander round listening to crickets/grasshoppers on a hot day.
