What a beautiful day to spend time in such a lovely place. I went to watch a memorial football match held annually in memory of my son's best mate, Titchy price. Nice outdoor space and rugby to watch Play area has been extended, which is great, but more needed for children. The main is lovely for a walk, run or picnic. Lovely to walk around but the council budget cut has meant that the majority of the flower beds have been grassed over and only a few with actual flowers in. The is also not well maintained anymore. The has parking area which is free to use and a little playground area with climbing frame, slide, swings, roundabout, mini trampoline pad and a few other play equipment. The also is home to Bargoed RFC and has a running track that is no longer marked out. There are a few playing fields for football and rugby. The has the wildlife that you would expect to see in a including squirrels and plenty of birds. The only downside is that the is located at the top of a hill so if walking up from town can be a long walk but the C18 and X38 buses pass the also. Lovely rugby ground at Bargoed, friendly staff on the day with food and drink available. Parking a bit tricky at the ground so parked on the street. Pitch has a few lumps with a definite downhill on one side. I love walking in the park. However, some of the pathways are very uneven and need to be resurfaced. It can be hazardous for older people who might not be so steady on their feet (like me). A lovely local walk. A treasure locally of green open space that has been abused in the past by gangs of youths mainly congregating by the playground and athletic tracks damaging areas with graffiti and criminal damage. The is central and holds sports events which ruins the grass with litter dumped afterwards and tire marks as cars all over grass areas. Beautiful trees and flowerbeds make this such a lovely space. Under utilised, particularly when other parks make use of extra revenue with tea shops or ice cream parlours. Nice grounds Has been my local for my entire life. Have seen the kids playground transform something like 3-4 times and its one of the best places to wander especially in the sun and snow. But as many people say it does need a good facelift with some proper facilities. Too many dog waste bins that attract the flys. Lost count how many times I was bitten. And everything left and not taken care of. Used to be a lovely but dog walkers have taken over with their children.
