Both of their indoor and outdoor dining areas are relaxing, if you choose indoor, you get warm and traditional wooden German interior, if you choose outdoor, sitting underneath the Cigar tree during summer, definitely a nice go-to. Ordered their classic Selbstgemachte Maultaschen, which is German style dumplings, while it's not a wrap, the pork tastes full of spices, dipping with their homemade beer sauce, you'll feel the sweetness in your mouth every bite of this dish. Cozy restaurant with amazing food and great service! Typical German dishes, very yummy and made with great quality ingredients. The staff is very attentive, friendly and nice! The hotel rooms are spotlessly clean, very warm, cozy and confy. Great location, right in the center of the little town, very close to different bakeries to eat breakfast at and very close to the bus stop. Overall, a great choice fir both eating and sleeping! I stayed here for 1 week on business in June 2023. It has history back to the 1600’s and I would take this over chain hotels any time. The rooms are spartan but larger than any travel hotel I have stayed in Frankfurt or Berlin, with daily room cleaning. The restaurant/hotel manager checked me in and was very friendly. Free parking below ground and good free wifi. No free breakfast but the local bakery(also fantastic) is a 3 minute walk. The hotel does have morning coffee. Everyone speaks good English and didn’t laugh at my bad German. The restaurant is the best in town for traditional German food and beer, with exceptional service. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to the area who wants a simple place to stay.
