Best sanitaires on the whole Biscay coast but they are unisex and it is rather odd to be shaving next to an unknown lady applying her make up! Its a large well run marina, but being large lacks character, and it's not that convenient for the town. The staff were friendly and helpful, and facilities good. Has some pleasant bars and restaurants and there is an inexpensive passenger ferry nearby to make the trek to town easier. This is the famous where the Vendée Globe takes place. Coming here means we’d be sure to get a sight of some of these race boats as we’ve seen often on TV in France. During this time, outside of the race Vendée Globe period, it is much more calm and chill. It is an interesting mix of old and new buildings all along the coast. Very industrialized area while keeping a few historical building. The small local sailboats were a beautiful sight. We came here with friend on our boat from Bourgenay just across. There are lots of restaurants along the port. The director of of at the Capitainerie is very friendly and nice. We’d go back again just for his good sense of humor and kindness. Being at such a famous means hey are used to dealing frequently with people, which enables them to be more open minded and used to having lots of visitors. Will definitely try to come back again. I'm seeing this evolving since I was born. Lost many fishermen but increased its activity with leisure boats, tours and now jet-ski. New drawings on silos are giving a very beautiful touch on the commercial Lovely place. You can have nice walks or book jet skis lessons. Restaurants nearby. Great holiday location. Very French. Plenty to do. Really big beach with clean sand and great sea water if a little chilly. The beach is lined with marvellous restaurants. Predominantly pedestrianised the length of the beach area, so quite safe but you'll still need to keep an eye on the odd car and the many cycles. Speaking of which, if you go there then BRING YOUR BICYCLES. You won't need to drive. If you don't have your own then don't fear, there's plent of places to rent at reasonable prices. It's perfect for cycling from the very young to the very old. The main town centre is only a stones throw away from the beach with many little streets to navigate and loads of shopping, markets and more eateries to choose from if that's what you also like. Look out for local free concerts and performances that may be on during your stay. Well run and helpful marina, can get very busy but staff work hard to find one a place. Quite good small bars and restaurants close by. Extreme convenient for shopping large super market close. We were in this marina for 2 months preparing on boat for long distance cruising. Nice docks. Town has lots to offer and good restaurants in the marina Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
