Milton Brasserie: A Hidden Culinary Gem Near Aberdeen We stumbled upon Milton Brasserie purely by accident, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! The location is part of a large complex with ample parking, but don't let the scale confuse you—follow the signs for this true "wee hidden jewel" in the Aberdeen countryside. Upon arrival, we were initially hesitant. Confusing signage near the coffee board suggested only outside takeaways and ordering through a hatch. Thankfully, we decided to walk into the main cafe area anyway, and we were immediately welcomed by a lovely lady who cheerfully showed us to a table for two. This friendly, pleasant welcome instantly set a positive tone for the entire experience. We were given plenty of time to look over the menu and settle in. When the food arrived, it genuinely blew us away! The real showstopper was the Milton Benedict. Without exaggeration, this is one of the best breakfast dishes I have ever had. The traditional muffins were replaced by warm, savory cheese scones, perfectly complemented by crispy bacon and delicious black pudding. The dish was beautifully presented, perfectly executed, and remarkably well-priced for the quality. Milton Brasserie is a must-visit. If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Aberdeen, make the detour. Quick response to email booking, well executed dishes with variety. Steak ciabatta crispy and the red onion paired well with the steak. Cullen skin was as as the reviews suggested, and well priced as a side dish to the sandwich. Lamb chops tasty. Chose this place out of all others en route from Craigever Castle to Dunnotar and it was a great lunch stop. Total bill £56 for 3 mains, 2 starters and a drink (hot chocolate, lamb chops, ciabatta steak sandwich, grilled cod and a chicken wing starter) was excellent value. Wonderful woodland setting next to the river. So much choice on the menu which was gluten and dairy free. Enjoyed marinated prawns with salad. We sat at an outside table with our dog. There were quite a few tables in the sun but we chose one around the corner in the shade as it was so hot. Lovely playground for children a short distance away. The perfect spot. Stopped in here just for a coffee and a cake. Choice was great with each bake looking as as the next. Drinks and bakes felt reasonably priced and in line with everywhere else. I went for a carrot cake and husband had a strawberry tart. Both were lovely as were the coffee we ordered. Love the traditional interior decor but we sat out on their decking area as such a nice day. Great place to relax next to a stream and tuck in the middle of all the shops. Plenty of free parking on site and great menu choice whether you want a drink, light snack or meal. Will definitely be back. This place has always had food service the only thing that lets it down is the cobbles as a pathway I just managed to get my electric wheelchair there scared but done it they have a disabled toilet but the the hallway to the toilet was not wide enough so why they have disabled parking spaces is not helpful I can walk but very painful so if someone could not walk they would not be able to use the toilet now I took my electric wheelchair back to the car with my son walking behind me to make sure I was ok you can take you car down the back of the buildings and get dropped off at the door lots of room to turn car round just as I said if you can’t walk the toilet would be a no go A casual, family friendly dining experience with marvellous dishes and deserts. 5 star restaurant without the dress codes! I could list countless favourites over the years… all of the cheesecakes, the Black cherry being my favourite. The maple syrup butter chicken waffles… ungodly delicious, duck confit, pulled pork/chicken macaroni, classic fish and chips, juicy beef burger, dauphinois potatoes, I could go on. Super yummy afternoon tea one of the best I’ve had. Two filled sandwiches each, sausage roll haggis ball lovely fancy pieces, scone and cream fruit and as much tea or coffee you like. Service was excellent 5* Myself & a few friends have been a few times now. Whether it's lunch or coffee & cake. Unfortunately everytime we've been, although the food is usually good, this time the plain scone was very dry & the GF brownie was not nice at all. No GF scones or no GF choices- the brownie - or nothing! The 2 ladies serving couldn't have looked less interested if they tried. 1 older lady & 1 younger. Never smiled, never came back to us again, and the older 1 was very rude to an (American?) Couple with their daughter- I really hope they complain too. When we went up to pay, again, (younger) lady barely looked up, never smiled, said thanks and walked away. Front of house/waiting staff really have to put in more effort.
