Loved it here. Friendly local pub serving up some really good fish n chips, soup, burgers and curry. The fish n chips were huge and the star of the meal. We popped in for a drink as we were stopping in our campervan nearby. What a great bar and lovely atmosphere. Very friendly and a great selection of spirits and beers including cask. We did not eat however saw the food coming out which looked fab. Next time we are here we will be having food. Parking across the road on the car park which is free and also on street. Have a lovely meal here. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Well recommended Best pub service we have ever had and good food - if your near visit here. We were planning a wander at balmoral castle but alas it was closed and they recommended the Balmoral Bar for lunch. Great stop on our journey and a cute town. I had a lovely leek and carrot soup and the rest of the party had Haggis Bon Bons - which I have to admit - I didn't order because haggis frightens me. But I did try them and they were wonderful! We all had the Venison Burger and agreed that it was delicious (and enormous!). The chips were also very good - which usually goes without saying in the UK...but these were mentionable! Great Cook! Great food and atmosphere. The cook was amazing. Had the Curry Lamp Phaal and Mix Fajitas. Being from Texas, I was a bit skeptical of the fajitas, but they were quite exquisite. Warm, local atmosphere in the village with great food and beer on tap. Proper fish and chips! Great pub to visit while in Ballater. Absolutely incredible food & such a snug, hearty pub with a lovely Scottish feel to it. The place was spotless and full of locals and their beautiful dogs, you could feel the place booming with love from the owners and everyone inside - smiles all around. We visited from Bristol & fancied a warm bite to eat after hiking to see Prince Albert’s Cairn and The Balmoral Bar did NOT disappoint! I tried Cullen Skink for the first time and it absolutely melted me - with the hot crusty bread, it was like a warm, tasty cuddle.
