Went swimming for the first time in the main pool. A decent overall and would rate it as a 3.5 out of 5. The staff were very helpful and friendly at reception, with the being of a good temperature. The was far too busy and packed for my liking, so you couldn't get an uninterrupted swim without people getting in the way. The showers were also firing in very short bursts. Swim tots sessions are brilliant. Lorna is great. Changing rooms are a little cold. Really nice leisure centre, huge gym and nice pool. The staff are always friendly, helpful and have a smile on their face. The car park can get a bit busy but there is usually a space somewhere. Thank you to Ruth for all of your help during my first visit here. I booked to go swimming and was unsure about the parking, where the changings rooms were etc and Ruth was more than happy to assist with my enquiries. Would definitely recommend, the is large and clean. Plenty of changing rooms etc 😊 Got a conjunctivitis (pink eye) infection the first time I went there to use the steam room and sauna. Changing rooms smelled like sewage, had days worth of hair and dust build up around the changing cubicle edges, showers were mouldy and all the floors felt like they had a film of slime. The receptionist I encountered was the friendliest I’ve come across in ages, and did everything she could to make me feel welcome but never once checked who I was and if I had paid to be there. I was not asked to sign any kind of forms, no emergency contact info, H&S nothing. Bottom line… it’s cheap, seems ok on the surface but really not worth it over all. I love the leisure centre. Staff are always helpful but I really want to shine a light on Debbie and her classes. I've been coming to her zumba for a while and recently started doing her RPM classes and she's just brilliant. Always puts 100% in, she's friendly and approachable. As an anxiety sufferer, it wasn't easy to start attending the gym but Debbie's classes have such a great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone. Suzie at the gym reception provided exceptional service! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me with all my questions, even securing a better rate for me. Her patience in assisting me with the app and booking was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended! Extremely poor. If a machine goes down, it will be down for months, they simply do not repair despite it only needing a cable and being a 30 minute job. The changing room smells, is dirty and in a state of disrepair as well, the gym staff are friendly enough but the reception desk are lazy and would not know the meaning of customer service, the management are worse still, arrogant and promoted beyond their capabilities, The best I can say is it is cheap, but I doubt it will stay so now the council are back in control.
